I need detailed instruction o how to get songs into chordie.  I have some on my computer that are in  word and pdf files.  Also where can I fine traditional country songs to download into chordie?

The only place on Chordie where songs are "in" Chordie is the Songwriter forum.  All other songs are hosted elsewhere.  Chordie acts as a consolidation point, and provides some tools for manipulating songs as they appear here while still hosted elsewhere.

For traditional country songs, I like this site: http://www.classic-country-song-lyrics.com/

Note: I have no connection to the site I linked, except as a user.

All the forums are beginner forums.  The overall attitude of the forum participants is that everyone has something to learn, and everyone has something to teach.  I'm sure your questions as a beginner will provide new insight to even the most seasoned player.  Never feel intimidated here.

i have never met any chordie members yet i feel that they are all friends yet to be met.

Ain't that the truth?  When I met Jeff Taylor (Topdown) for the first time in person, it was like reconnecting with an old and dear friend.  When I met Beamer in person there was no macho facade.  We went straight for the big bear hug and I for one had tears in my eyes.  These are good people here.  Straight up good people.

I've met others too, so if you didn't make the description list, don't let it hurt your heart please.  You're all dear.

I look forward to some day meeting you two.  The wheels are spinning, and maybe if some day I wind up driving down to ChordieFest, there may be a stop on the way (or slightly out of the way) to shake some hands, pass out some hugs, and strum some tunes.

In short: You're welcome dear Dondra.  It was the least we could do.

You are crazy and a horder.

I don't believe that, but was following instruction.

Not sure that I'll be overnighting, but I do want to come. If I overnight, it would probably be Sat into Sun unless Normtheguitar works things out and needs a ride.

Bring cots and/or air mattresses and tents?

I don't sing well, so I have to play accompaniment.  But...I don't play well, so I definitely have to sing to disttact attention from my playing.

There's a bazillion musicians who would give some very personal and important body bits to have just two of the songs from Graceland to their credit. Paul Simon wrote the album thirty years into an exceptional career.

Some guys get all the luck.

I must have missed the note on insulin pump. I know a couple folks with them, and who love the freedom they give. Just be sure to have a spare vial around.

Best of luck with your pump. I hope it helps to keep you stable and feeling safe.

B & D

It's 20 til midnight and I'm just home from work. I've got to do some work at the range in the morning, so I'll diddle with settings and maybe get another song or two recorded for the lovely Ms. Dondra.

We can't pick up the latest song, buddy. Still getting that message even though I joined drop box. Sorry!

Haven't started Happy Boy. It takes me a long while to learn a new song. And also I thought that request was to Dirty Ed.

I'll diddle with the settings this evening. Now that I've got the recording working better, I'm enjoying it and will be using that folder to record and share for constructive criticism.

How'd the night go? Everything stay OK?

So glad that Dondra is home and got to sleep in her own bed.  That's medicine for the spirit right there.

You all get some good sleep and hopefully tomorrow will be a brighter day.

She wouldn't say it to me either if she saw me.  LOL.   Here's a picture of me getting up in the morning after sleeping on Topdown's floor at ChordieStock 2013.

Topdown spread the hay around just for me.

I dropped "Live Forever" into the Dropbox folder.  I haven't got the speed of the picking up to what you hear from Billie Joe Shaver, but maybe it'll be OK.

I'll try and do a couple more for her soon.  Don't tell your tea-toting wife, but the red wine I was sipping had started to kick in by the time I recorded Blue Train.  I've had a hard time getting a handle on that song.  But she said she liked 60s and 70s country, so that one had to be done.

I worked it out with Dropbox, BGD. Thanks for the kind offer, though.

Play what sounds good.

Play it a lot.

I don't find Martins to be the easiest playing guitars, generally preferring Taylors strictly for feel.  But it's tough to beat their sound.  When I had the choice between buying a Martin and a Taylor, I bought a Guild.  It sounded better.

To repeat: Play what sounds good.  Play it a lot.  You'll get used to it.

Thanks BDD.  And...uh...how do I do that?

I'm going to try to e-mail each song, and see if they aren't too large.

I recorded a few country/folk songs for Dondra, but don't know how to get them to her.  I'll try Dropbox.  Not sure how that works.  Still praying.

I think we might be able to scrounge up some fresh interpretations of country and country rock songs.

Best of luck. I don't know anything about medicine beyond what a long since expired first aid course taught me, but 'heart' is scary. I'll keep praying.

Welcome to chordie 'tails - you wont find a friendlier group than the folks who post here I assure you. Please chime in whenever it fancies you

The only real problem we have around here is this one guy who lives in Florida and insists on posting pictures of beach sunsets all February.  Otherwise, it's a great group.  I have yet to meet a Chordian in person that I didn't like.  I even like their wives and husband and dogs and kids and father-in-laws and all of it.
