I agree Tim, it does get annoying for them but I have explained just how rotten it can be, so now when anyone at work gets just the slightest buzzing they almost go into a panic thinking their getting it."Walk a mile in my shoes" I would say and nobody wants to but at least they understand.

KAP54:)

Solid advise from Tim0473.Take your time in the shops and try them all out if you want to.If you show the store owner respect when playing he won't mind at all letting you play them all.Don't be afraid to ask the owner any questions."No such a thing as a stupid question"He wants to build a relationship with you so you can become a valued customer. When you find a guitar that you fancy   than get some more advice on that guitar from all your friends here at chordie before buying it.
I would buy a guitar, capo, tuner, strap and a good case before I bought an amp,but thats just me.
Hope that helps

Welcome to chordie Katherine.
I would, if I were you,by an acoustic guitar. There are many inexpensive quality guitars out there.I would advise and acoustic simply because they are a lot of fun playing and you can take them any where.Classical guitars are meant for the music that the name implies. You just don't see too many of them around a roaring campfire. You sound a lot like me when it came to learning...Just show me something I can have fun with.So now I am self taught, have a blast playing but don't know a lick of theory.
Barre chords are gonna hurt learning but it's worth it.
I'm sure someone here knows a good guitar to suggest for you.

Hope this helps smile

Hi Mikesr
I agree as does marcalan or anyone for that matter, that when its quiet it is when its the loudest.
Good call with sitting in front of the stacks night after night. If we only knew then what we know now.
Thanks for the valuable input. smile

Chime away Tim0473.
This is a serious problem that can happen to young or old.For all you young Chordies out there that think you are invincible and can take the pounding than beware.....when you get older you may be crawling up the walls to escape the buzzing just because it was cool to listen to loud music or loud noises when you were young.
As we get older it can affect us easier.Must wear proper hearing protection if we want to continue to hear music properly

Sorry if I carried on but for those in the know....Tinnitus Sucks

Thanks for your input Tim0473 smile

Thanks for the advise Old Doll but I'm afraid that after living with the buzzing for at least the last five years day in and day out, night in and night out and many trips to the docs (1 MRI),it has been labeled tinnitus which has no cure but to learn to live with it.With me I have a strong constant buzzing in my right ear and a kind of harmonic in my left ear(the left ear I have to concentrate to hear it,which I don't do to often. LOL)
For me if I want relief at night I'll turn on a good movie and hopefully get lost in it,or I'll enjoy a bunch of Labatts Products or both cause the only way to escape it is to let your mind wander and or sleep.
Unfortunately I am not the only chordie dealing with this ^*#%@%!)*^%&..............(^&*()^*%#
problem. So it's good that it is brought up cause it's good to know your not alone.

This is the third time I have tried to post this reply. There seems to be a glich. Please go thru...Please

Thanks Helena

In 2000 I was in a buds small recording studio. He is a a talented player on all levels of instruments. He liked the style of stuff I was writing and offered to record them for free for his practice. When it came down to base lines and so on he had a hard time getting what I wanted as his interpretation is different than what I have in mind.He talked me into buying a keyboard so I can record what I want.Which is what I did.I bought a Yamaha PSR2000.My buddy Ted moved away and I have been self teaching myself on and mostly off how to play, but its basically collecting dust.I don't know how to record with it...the manual is all ghandi, and now I want to get serious about recording. The PSR2000 is built for recording and playing your recorded material with jacks for mic and guitar.32 track recording and lots of sweet sounds. After reading here about all the quality recording tools out there I was wondering if (1)they can be tied in together for better sound quality and (2) Where the *$&^@### can I find a manual. It's Only 8 yrs old but out of date.
Any Help at all would be great.
P.S. Computers scare the crap out of me and I panic when confronted by this type of challenge.

Thanks smile

Hey Zurf.I used to play a lot of country style on E-B7-A-E.Theres lots of different ways to bridge to a chorus or visa versa  D C G,even the dreaded F.Can't think of any tunes off hand but there's lots to pick from.Sounds like your buddies gonna get a well deserved roast and should be a blast. You picked your silly content yet?

Check on the right side of the songs .You will see an area to transpose the chords in the song you are viewing. It will change the chords and label them.
Good Luck With It.

lol lol lol
You guys crack me up. Great word play Zurf.
I'm guessing that my Tinnitis developed from being young and foolish in my days of construction. We used to use Hilti-guns(they fired 22 calibur shots to drive the nails) for fastening steel or wood to steel or block and in my youthful ignorance I felt that that I didn't need hearing protection. Wow was I wrong.Having to deal with constant buzzing for 5 years, night and day should be a wake up call for anybody in a noisy atmosphere.Wear Hearing Protection.....Don't be stupid.
Who knows maybe I have to deal with this for the rest of my life.True there are worse things that could happen to me,but I gotta tell you when it's 3 in the morning and all you want to do is go to sleep and the buzzing won't go away!!!!!You'll have no one to blame but yourself.

Thanks for the input guys, nice to know I'm not alone.
