Thanks for the comments guys. It is a while since I did any recording and this is the second recent one I have done so I thought it was about time I started joining in here again.
Phill. The drummer is Band in a Box I'm afraid, but recently they are using more 'Real Tracks' for drums and other instruments, which sound far better than the midi ones. Incidently, in my version, half the third verse and the whole of the fourth verse are mine and not Sonny's, as I felt it told a better story this way.

We miss you Al please drop by more often.

Hi Jx3,
You can edit the quote before posting by removing words, (as I have done with yours) or the links to photos. As long as you do not alter the 'quote' and '/quote' in the square brackets at the start and end of it you will be OK. You can always preview to see it is OK before posting.

Hi Brad,
Go into your 'Profile', select 'Privacy' and ensure that the box next to 'Save username and password between visits' is ticked. Don't forget to save before you exit. Hopefully this should sort it out for you.

Hi Babblinidiot and welcome to Chordie,
Either "Tom Dooley" or "When The Saints" are the 2 chords songs that I use to teach my students on their first lesson. "He's Got The Whole World In His Hands", a 3 chord song, is the usually used for the second one. So not so corny!!
By the way most of my students are Portuguese and they often know these songs.

This is one of my all time favourite songs which I recorded for a Facebook friend.

Hi Blaster and welcome to the Chordie forum,
I do not have the answer to either of these questions. I suspect that the song order may be a relatively simple thing to fix but the chord variation far more difficult. However, as I am not a software programmer, I may be completely wrong
.
I have written to Per (the site owner) and asked these questions for you; I will post the answers here as soon as I get them.

Interesting info, although I am afraid that the start dates are arbitrary. There were major changes that were made to Chordie in March 2006 and everyone got given that as a start date. I, along with many others, was active before this date but I had my username changed and my start date reflects this.
Roger
I too would like the logo, then I can at least feel like I was there

I had a guy in the shop yesterday interested in a keyboard to rent. He walked in whist I was recording the backing for a song and his first comment was "It is great to walk in a music shop and hear someone playing". A great way to make friends instantly
. His name was Brian and I discovered that he earned his living writing music for TV but when we got filling to in the rental form I discovered that his surname was Bennett.
Now to many of you this will mean nothing, anyone of my generation who was a Shadows fan will know instantly that this is the guy I was talking to:

Please be careful; classical guitars wound strings are normally nylon cored, not steel. The classical guitar is not constructed with enough strength to withstand the stress of steel strings and I have seen far too many ruined this way.

Sounds like, after a very nasty scare, things are looking good for you. Kind thoughts and well wishes from Portugal.

The reason for my suggestion is to try and make it easier for you when the event happens. I can assure that none of us Skype jammers bite .......................... we might drink a bit, but we definitely do not bite.
Roger
Good for you, go for it. Keep and eye open for the next time we have a Skype jam and come and play to us guys first to get you used to playing in front of others.

On the right hand side of any song, along with the print and chopro button, is the auto-scroll button. You do not need any other software to scroll a song
.
Roger
Sorry that will not work. You can only remove it in it's original chopro and go from looking like this:
[G]Mary had a little lamb, she [C]also had a bear:
I have [G]often seen her little lamb, but [D]never seen her [G]bear.
to this:
[G]Mary had a little lamb, she [C]also had a bear:
I have [G]often seen her little lamb, but [D]never seen her [G]bear.
However you can go into the song and edit it to what you want before printing it out. Just click on 'Edit' by the song in your Songbook.

A Portuguese ladyfriend of mine who now lives in Brighton, Canada has just walked about a mile back home from work in a blizzard, much to the distress of her colleagues who wanted to drive her back. Having never seen a blizzard she wanted the experience. Cold and weary she made it back home but also excited and ready for a long hot bath.

The Songbook title has now been amended and, although the Member is not active on the Forum, I have decided to remove any reference to his username in this thread.

Tabs is an easy, convenient way to show where to postion fingers on strings to play notes but you really have to know the piece you are playing to understand it.
To know the actual note, length of beat and where it is in the bar (measure) then I am afraid you will have to learn to read a music score which is more difficult but well worth the effort.
Roger
It is not possible for a Moderator to change the title of a songbook, perhaps Per could, but we cannot, however I have written the following to the Member:
Chordie is a family site with many young people and ladies as both Members and visitors and so swearing is not allowed in any way, shape or form. You therefore have 24 hours to change the disgusting name you have given to a public songbook.
Failure to do so will result in a ban from Chordie and a deletion of all your private and public songbooks.
Roger Guppy (Moderator)
I will look again tomorrow and if it is still the same I will 'delete' the Member which will remove any trace of him ever being on Chordie. Public and private songbooks will be deleted. I do hope that he has a shred of decency and realises his lack of judgement.

Superglue one to her thumb then she will not be able to lose it

Hi F.A., I know you have been around a little while and we have already passed comments but as you have come to 'Chat' specifically to introduce yourself I would like to wish you a warm welcome to the Chordie family.
Some of us have been playing guitar a long time (my first one had dinosaur gut strings) and others not so long, but all the Members are friendly and helpful which make this such a pleasant place to visit, whether it be for a serious, deep and meaningful discussion on music theory or some light hearted banter here in 'Chat'.
Enjoy Chordie,
Roger
lottycatz wrote:Roger Guppy, you mention songs can be "displayed as chordpro"; I've always used this on my laptop but can't find when browsing on the iPad - how do I find this?
I know nothing about these new fangled iPad thingies so drop a line to admin@chordie.com for help.

Getting married for the first time was stupid................................... repeating the excercise was shear lunacy
.
Had I found the right girl in the first place, as many of you seem to have done, then it would have been a different story.
Oh well, you know what they say, third time lucky
