Peatle - great stuff Brother - love the historical account!
The only time change ever really happens is when the people join together and make a stand.  I loved all the pictures in the song video - New Zealand must be  a beautiful nation!

TF -Sina is terrific !  And so young I listened to several other videos of her - wow, just wow!

Bill - that drop D tuning makes Barre chords easier - one finger -   I gotta try that - thanks for the tip.

Peatle - If you want to see another example of old and new together - check out this group of family and friends singers called Foxes and fossils
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S23VK1v9dB8      They were awesome -  that's right - WERE !   The girls got older went to college and now the group is defunct - except for gatherings when they all come home.

TF again - That guitar is like a great wine - better with age   The angle he holds it - does that make it easier to play ?
Love the passion on his face while playing - very cool and plays like silk!

Thanks to all you boys !
Jim

Fantastic truck - great one line jokes there TF

Nice cover Richard.
I wish I could play and sing as well as you do.
I was amazed in reading how many songs Jim Steinman had written that were hits for so many huge groups/singers.

Thanks for sharing

Bonnie Raitt is awesome.  She just has that  edge that says I can do anything  a man can do - she has a unique voice and is a very, very talented performer.
Peatle - the duet with Norah Jones is good, beautiful blend of voices, but for me it's way too slowly dragged out.
Thanks for sharing CG, TF and P

That is awesome, brought back many memories for me

I was at a steve Earle,Lucinda Williams last year at Woodstock - the roads getting in are not any better than 1969!
Still an awesome place  to visit!

In 1974 I got to meet Richie Havens - a really cool guy and very nice.
Uncountable renditions of my buddies and I re-enacting Havens at Woodstock.
AS far as the tuning - all that is probably great for you musicians - I really don't have much of a clue.  smile

Thanks for the info brother!
Peace -

this always brightens up my Fridays - I'm never disappointed - usually when it plays - there are 3 or 4 more lined up behind it that I like as well.

a cover that comes to my mind is the Blind Faith album
when i was a teenager i think the naked girl on the cover was a great selling point.

The girl was 11 years old -  In today's world they would be arrested for child porn

That is fabulous !!
I can picture that happening all over world, especially in rural communities.
It personally struck a chord with me.
About 25 years ago my bother invited me to play poker with his friends. They were all at least 25 years older than I but they were great.  I was asked to fill the chair bc one of their dear friends and colleagues had passed away. Today they have all gone except for my brother, but he does not play anymore.
Yet the other day some younger guys asked me to join them in a game......  same conversations, and as you say   " same old crowd' - except in this case it was "same younger crowd"

That was beautifully written TF
Thank you for sharing.

TF and Jets

Thanks so much for the kindness.

I would love to hear your  version of it. IMHO there really is no right version of a song, its how you feel as you sing it - if you like it - it's perfect.

I was watching a really old  movie and the narrator said - "he walked away and she let him go"

I grabbed my notebook and wrote that down and just kept writing - this is what I came up with....

Foolish Hearts By Jim Kenyon

[D]He never said how he [G]felt

He [D]never felt a need to [A]say

It was[D] hard to tell if it was [G]real

but he [A] said we’ll talk another[D] day

[D]And there never was a[G] later

It [D]never happened even [A]once

He [D]walked away, and she [G]let him go

Hopeless[A] faith in a feigned [D]front

.

Chorus

[G]Oh foolish hearts, oh foolish hearts

Oh [D]don’t let your let pride get in the way

Oh [G]foolish hearts, oh foolish hearts

Don’t let your [A]dreams go astray

[G]Oh foolish hearts, foolish hearts

You know [D]diamonds can turn to dust

Oh [G]foolish hearts, foolish hearts

please be[A] careful of whom you [D]trust

.

[D]And that’s exactly how it[G] ended

Reckless [D]pride right from the [A]start

Yeah she [D]thought things might work [G]out

just [A] careless hoping on her [D] part

[D]It was something how she [G]loved him

never [D]can be understood by a [A]man

Ro[D]mance is only for the [G]truest hearts

Every[A]one else does the best they [D]can

.

Chorus

[G]Oh foolish hearts, oh foolish hearts

Oh [D]don’t let your let pride get in the way

Oh [G]foolish hearts, oh foolish hearts

Don’t let your [A]dreams go astray

[G]Oh foolish hearts, foolish hearts

You know [D]diamonds can turn to dust

Oh [G]foolish hearts, foolish hearts

please be[A] careful of whom you [D]trust

out go

Oh [G]foolish hearts, foolish hearts

please be[A] careful of whom you [D]trust

Oh [G]foolish hearts, foolish hearts

Be[A] careful of whom you [D]trust

Slower

Be[A] careful of whom you [D]trust
