BGD the guitar in this photo is the basic Douglass Shadow CSB a funny thing when I ordered this they shipped me the upgraded Douglass 2000 the only difference is the side trim on the body and neck so I don't know if they made a mistake or just upgraded the order but the pickups and everything else is the same

That's a great looking axe. Love the slide .. I gave that a couple minutes' attempt and just got noise and never got back to it. Maybe this winter...
Thanks for sharing your work!
Jim
Thanks Jim using a slide at first is tricky you have to put the slide on the fret not between them it just takes a little practice
bensonp wrote:Oh yeah. Blues on your knew nice looking guitar. Great job Russell. Sounding good man
Thanks Pete feedback is so important and I appreciate your taking time to listen
jackde wrote:Russell, wish I had your talent. The loop is so cool, I'll have to learn how to do that.
Jack the loop is my Boss 20-XL loop station I also use a Boss F5-6 foot switch it allows me to switch up or down thru all 13 loops one other thing is its fantastic practice tool my setup cost a few buck but there are less expensive models that will be fun to use and help you develop your potential
Baldguitardude wrote:What is the amp setup? This sounds almost Strat sparkly....
BGD I use a PA amp Phonic 100W with 2 12" speaker cabinets My Boss ME-50 provides the effects I think the sound quality is because of the pickups they really do sound nice and clean this Douglass 2000 is exceptional in everyway

I think anyone trying to dance to this will need a fibirator to get there heart moving again very quick tempo must have been a concert performance
dino that's football its a tough sport trash talk is part of it no hard feelings with me your standing up for your team I can understand that and wish a good season for the 49's so we can meet them again
Thanks all for commenting the tremolo is really fun to work with I am still getting used to the bass and treble mix on the guitar which is the reason I chose a easy blues to play but practice is always the answer Beamer don't know about surf music but I recall doing a few one of them is "Wipeout" also some old Duane Eddy or Link Ray's "Rumble" I go back a ways
thanks again everyone
I finely set it up and did a video of my new guitar and Stetsbar tremolo just a little blues

dino48 wrote:Russell there where bad calls made on both sides like when the big blond hair guy slammed our quarterback too the ground after he went too the sideline on a run it works both ways.
That was Clay Matthews and he was panelized for it;

Russell that was a nail biter!!,if you did not miss some hearbeats you were not alive.
There were 3 bad decisions in the game 2 by the special teams and a blown call by the refs the decision to run it out on the kickoff was stupid it set Greenbay back on there 10 yrd line (twice) and instead of being 4 and 1 on the penalty they replayed 3rd down and it cost the packers a touchdown
The Pack lost a tough fought game gotta give the 49's credit no turnovers and time of possession a heartbreaker for packer fans but the seasons young and they will fight
We have a very strong storm passing thru my area lighting wind rain and extremely loud thunder I will have to postpone recording till after it clears the area hopefully later this afternoon but everything is setup and ready to shoot keep you posted
Roger Guppy wrote:The guitar looks great Russ and this addition is a very sensible design. It should work well. I have seen the results so I am now looking forward to hearing the results.
Roger
and you will my nomad friend today I am video taping a demo with only my Boss 20XL loop station ME-50 and an amp a no frills production
A word of caution when mounting this on a LP style make sure you slide the moveable bridge all the way to the back and set it with the small locking screws this will insure that when you put strings on and bring it up to pitch the tremolo arm is level if the strings are to high off the frets adjust the bridge screws and use some lite oil on the nut where the strings make contact then you will be in dive bomb heaven
Tenement Funster wrote:I'm looking forward your performance review of the Stetsbar, Russell.
It will likely be October before have enough saved to get one. I had originally thought to put the gold one on my LP, but am now thinking I'll go with the black. A bit of gold on a glossy black guitar looks fine; too much looks "pimpy" IMHO.
After mounting it I changed strings to a new set it took a bit for them to settle did some stretching but I put the Stets thru a workout dive bombing raising several semi tones and it STAYED in tune man this is some kind of machine I think the black is a good choice with a black guitar it looks serious and bad a** save your sheckles you are going to want to own this
Phill Williams wrote:looks brill, i'm tempted to get one for my tele, do they do them?
yes they do its a little different set up I think but its still has the same effect no price increase that I'm aware of
This is what it looks like mounted on my new Douglass 2000

This is just some lighting added for kicks

It wont be long as soon as I mount this new Stetsbar pro II I can start working out a few leads it arrived today

BGD I do understand the Bb is just a outside chord not included in the progression so you could use just about any chord
thanks for the explanation
Phill it wont be long I haven't decided which song to showcase my new ax I would prefer to wait till after my luthier files the frets which is Friday the best I could do is a standard blues at the moment my Stetsbar arrives on the 5th so it may be sooner lots of things musically are brewing for me some guys want to jam with me on my songs so it may be a good thing to wait
don't know why they put a Gb/f# in the key of G either because Gb is F# must be a typo and G is a sharp key (F#) to begin with it and as far as the Bb I think it should be called A# as far as chords are concerned in notation I can understand a # in G but not a b I would think as I understand it when playing in keys that have sharps there are no flats only naturals
I ordered the Stetsbar pro 11 with shipping it came to $250.00 I favored the chrome and for good measure I ordered a six pack of Super Slinkys 09 to 042 my printer also needed ink so I spent another 44 bucks and celebrated with a nice Italian Sub from Cousins and gassed up the buggy 300 bucks sure went quick I am having the frets filled on my Douglass in preparation for the new tremolo and for more comfort and speed all in all it was a good day
