nice to listen to and relax with, thanks for sharing smile

Hi everyone,
back from holiday and i have been checking out all the different versions of the two songs being done by you .... and once again, WOW! you lot just blow me away with the talent on here.

Mojo01 .......... excellent once again, very easy to listen to and i would quite easily sit and listen to your  cover over and over, great to listen to on a car trip smile
Roger............... very cruisey, easy listening cover by you, nice job ...... you covered it so well and i like your style on this one too.
Baldguitardude ......... very professional sounding with the band , nice job  smile
Tigljk ..........well done, loved the added verses and i thought you did a good job of this song.  I actually have never heard of this song before so will have to go listen to the orginal verson as well.

Hope i have got everyone on here that has covered these songs so far.  Mostly covers for ~Knocking on heavens door~ , hoping to hear  more covers for six-strings down too from you all.

Dino48 ........ where is your version of knocking on heavens door? smile

Now incase some of you haven`t heard Rickyjack has an excellent version up on soundcloud of this song as well https://soundcloud.com/rds-songs/knocki … oor-cover.

Anymore takers for these songs? Amy? Unclejoesband?  ................ i will attempt them myself, just got to get a bit of spare time to do them smile

There are two winners who get to choose the song for August.  So the winners will each pick a song they would like for us to cover.   Once again there will be two Featured Songs Of The Month for us to have a go at smile

The first name has been chosen (NOT from the hat) due to all the HINTING that has been going on  ............ so without further ado, the first winner is ...........wait for it ...........wait for it http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/3504/1968/400/SnareDrum.jpg
ROGER GUPPY  big_smile

Roger ........ lol i certainly did have a jam with my friends wink  Thanks for comments smile

unclejoesband .........  it is isnt it, that is what makes it fun and interesting smile

I realised i had forgotten to post the link for Down On The Corner.

Ok my second song ~Down on The Corner~  is on Sound Cloud.  Again the girls helped me do this cover.  Vocals/ukulele/kazoo by me, friend Belinda on harmonica, my daugher on Nicola on cajon and little wash board.

Had fun .... probably a bit too fast to begin with.

Amy ........... thanks for that and yes it was fun to have the girls join in with this one.  See my comments above to Roger re: that song smile

I have recorded the other song as well which i will upload to sound cloud soon which the girls helped me with too, we did both yesterday when they were here smile

Roger .............  thanks for that generous comment and yes it was great to get the girls to help make this song more interesting and it was fun smile
Belinda is learning the harmonica and doing a great job of it.  I have to say, it was the girls who did well in this recording smile  I  honestly did NOT, the words came out  rushed, I couldn`t quite fit them in with the timing and they were unclear to hear in parts and overall not suited to me ..... it would have been nice to have had more time to rehearse it with the girls ..... maybe next time smile  But the main thing is ...........I had a go at it wink

Nice ............. i would so love to have a big room like that for our musical stuff!  Looking good Beamer smile

Ok here is my attempt at WAGON WHEEL.
I struggled vocally with this song to be honest, it definitely suits a male voice in my opinion .... I probably should have tried it in a different chord. I am also playing guitar on this one and I am re-learning guitar which I haven`t played much in years.  Ok, that is all my excuses over with wink and except to say, we need some females here having ago at these songs too smile
I changed the word  'Momma' to 'Baby for obvious reasons.
I have a friend of mine joining me, she is playing the harmonic and banjo bits.  My daughter is playing the Cajon.

Phill, that was a powerful and emotional song.  It asks the question many people world wide are asking themselves.  As i said on sound cloud, thanks for sharing the heart felt thoughts of  many.

Russell.... that was really good and wow awesome, that would be so much fun to do that each week with a bunch of mates and jam together.   It sounded great smile
Now i am going to show my ignorance again .................
1st question,  the bass player, his base guitar looked like it had a 5th string?
2nd question, how on earth do you all manage to play and sing and remember all the chords, lyrics without reading them?  that must take lots of practice to remember so many songs.

Roger ..... a good take on this cover smile

Your song has touched on all the sad elements of the evil that is happening. You have captured all that unnecessary pain very powerful and very moving.

Phill ........... Ditto to what Peatle said .......... looking forward to hearing it.

Any more attempts at these two songs?  I am going to attempt them myself, just got to get some free time to record them smile
