It has its own speakers as well as a rhythm section and 24 voices and displays the notes as you play them I find the midi connection very helpful I record my original song as i play it into my free Anvil program it creates a midi file along with the notes and the free MuseScore program converts the midi file to notes and prints out a lead sheet a nice time saver ![]()

dino it has 61 full sized keys I did have to buy a 12 volt adapter(not included) it was 10 dollars and I also purchased a 2 yr service plan for 10 dollars the total cost was 120 dollars it has a midi connection to pc as well as a 1/4" out put for headphones or to a amp/recorder,it serves as a nice interface with my software programs(museScore,Miroslav Philharmonic) or any DAW great sound and easy to play and setup
Russell_Harding wrote:Thanks dino I knew about the glitches but went with it anyway my Yamaha e 233 has a grand piano setting it was well worth the 100 bucks and free shipping from amazon

Russell was all you paid for the piano/synth,if so I might look into getting myself one as mine is old and the sound is not nearly as good. Is it a 61 key or a full 88?

I looked into that were talking some big bucks somewhere around $1800 and its more then just an interface its a processor with vst's I sure would like to own one but I would have to have a rich uncle die and I dont have any or win the lottery,I did see a resonalble alternative its a midi guitar interface usb it uses a battery no 9v adapter that lets you go direct to your pc's daw or software program like my Philharmonik and play the "keys" by striking the strings and you can also use it with software notation programs like musescore Im still undecided about getting it the cost is around $99 dollars from amazon ![]()

Re: Miroslav Phiharmonik (4 replies, posted in Recording)
I had a thought what if I can get a midi interface for my guitar and enter the notes and chords into this program this way? I sure feel a lot more comfortable with my strat then I do with the keyboards time to do a little research into this possiblility especially on the string sections no bow is needed you can set this funtion for long or short. ![]()

That list excludes Sonny Terry,Brownie Magee,Lightnin Hopkins,Long gone miles if they aint blues I dont know what is.
I had the pleasure of meeting Long gone Miles in Venice Califorina along with Sonny Terry,Brownie Mcgee, Lightnin Hopkins and the Chambers Bros.I jammed at few parties and got to hang out with these blues legends it was a very enlightining time in my life. this is (long gone miles) singing some blues. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sgq_iXckVnY

I agree never could get around it.
I hate curlies with a passion. Storing them is always a freaking nightmare, as they tangle on everything else, are impossible to roll up tightly, and did I mention they tangle on everything else?

Music theory is better because it can be applied the theory of relativity is not relivant
Jerome can't be bothered with song titles. He's too busy trying to prove that matter is made up of musical notes and how music theory is way better than the theory of relativity.

it is a rare thing indeed
It's "You Don't Mess Around With Jim" by Jim Croce.
I am taking this rare opportunity to correct Jerome because I can.

techniclly I could be wrong with regards to inverting the notes but I wont lay awake worring over a 9th ![]()
It occured to me that G B D A would be the notes in a G add 9 (1 3 5 9) but normally I think it woulld progress as 1 3 5 7 9 and this could also be called a 9th chord sort of a dicotomy like tomato tomaato ![]()

Re: How do you play chords like a Gadd9? (5 replies, posted in Acoustic)
another way to understand it is to concider the constrution of a major scale it is built on 8 tones these can also be called steps or intervals
In the key of G there is one #sharp (F#) so it would be G A B C D E F# G notice the 2nd interval is A a 9th is just an extenension thats where the A comes in so A is the 2nd and the 9th G add 9 is 13579 or G B D F# A these notes can be shuffled around in any order depending on the voicing you wish it is stll a G add 9 ![]()

Hi, can anyone please put the chords on this song ( I see an Angel Everyday ) I am not sure if Billy Parker is the orginal artist. Thx

I purchased this software at AMS (American Musical Supply) it cost me $59.99 the shipping was free.I cant heap enough praise on it as I was totally blown away by the instruments included ALL the instruments in a philharmonic orchastra and they actually sound authentic the biggest suprise was the Steinway concert grand piano I dont know how they did it but it IS a Steinway and sounds iike one all the intruments do especially the violins and cellos you do need a midi keyboard and some kind of digital recorder to record from your PC with a stereo Y mini jack and rca male inputs or you can use Reaper,Pro tools, and good DAW (digital audio workstation) I have the setup PDF for Reaper if anyone is interested. Somtimes you just gotta spend the money to get high quality gear and this is one of them. This program can be downloaded also I had a box set (3 dvd disks) the company is IK Multimedia. I think the download version is also $59.99 this program is far and away better then any keyboard or its equal. there is a site that offers help once you install and these guys are friendly and knowledgable ![]()

Re: Squeaking strings (12 replies, posted in Guitars and accessories)
I like an occasional squeaking it adds the human touch to a song,I remember watching the greatest classical guitarist that ever lived, Segovia on television played a classical piece I believe it was on the late Johnny Carsons Tonight show not only did he squeak a few times but he missed a note(it was flat) and shrugged it off with a smile to err is human to play like Segovia is devine. ![]()
