To me the Beatles were awesome. They are the great deceivers however !
They make you believe that every song is a simple few chords. and then they always complicate it.
They were pioneers - unafraid to introduce new aspects of musical performance - attached to genius arrangements and powerful lyrics.
They weren't afraid to do crazy and non-sensical songs, nor were they afraid to tackle social issues. The fact that they appeal to multiple generations validates their worthiness to be called the best ever.
They had the perfect blend of voices, the perfect blend of musical talent, the perfect blend of appearances, and the great ability to build off each other - hence the perfect team.
and best of all - they had fun !!
I believe they are the reason why music became so greatly powerful in the 60's. I was only 12 when I first saw them- my sisters went insane!
I can't think of a Beatles song that was recorded that wasn't a great song in some way.
Any time a Beatles song comes on the radio - somehow I know the words.
They were one of a kind, never to be replicated ! Ride in the car with anyone - when a Beatles song comes on- everyone's feet tap and people sing along !
Phill - I believe they would have made any record label successful - they were that remarkable.

1) she is absolutely incredible - can't imagine the number of practice hours to get to that point.

Phill The music is incredible. Fantastic blending of notes and rhytym. The speed changes are subliminal - reminiscent of the ups and downs of such a relationship - excellent.

My 85 year old brother Joseph J. Kenyon - note the huge oxygen tank. He served as tail gunner during Korean War. My other brother Alfred was a pilot during last year of Korea. My son in law is now deployed as a special ops pilot in USAF. Joe's been leading this ceremony over 50 years. I tried to talk him out of it this year due to his health issues.... he replied -" I can do this, it's too important not to. People must never forget".
Local man Roy Althiser,Jr. was guest speaker... a Marine..... served two tours of Vietnam, lost his leg in an explosion while serving as a volunteer fireman, lost his son at age 12 to brain cancer. His father served in WWII and Korea. His Uncle was a KoreanWar POW for 36 months. His son served in Marines in Iraq war and Afghanistan.

If we forget to honor those that serve or are serving, we are doomed as a society. It is because of those men and women that serve this country that we have all the freedoms and life choices that we enjoy.
Lastly, the Bugler that escorted Ulysses S. Grant to Appomattox Court house for the Surrender of Robert E. Lee at the conclusion of the Civil War was a young man named Seth Flint. He had runaway from home to join, at 16 so he used a fake name during his service years. (Charles Seaver) . He served in a slew of battles as infantry and as a cavalry rider before becoming Buglar. When the surrender was over he played taps. After he was done, the Southern bugler echoed it. Hence - that's why we have the echo performed each year during the ceremonies. He also lived in my town . He was responsible for the huge Boys in Blue Statue which bears brass plates of all the Civil War Veterans, and subsequently every other war veteran that ever served from our town.
Peatle- sorry if I stepped over into your history realm regarding the Civil War .... but I thought some would be interested.
It doesn't matter what country we are from- we all have many that gave some or all for freedom.

I'm not changing anything else, because it makes sense to me as it is,,, and I like it.
It's just a fun song - about a girl that is amazing and a guy that is head over heels for her.
(Did you watch the cockatiel? ) Which was how this thing got started !
The guy is just making the point, that when you have a girl like that- it takes a lot to impress her.
You are way over thinking this. If it makes it any easier - just picture that male cockatiel singing to that female on the perch !!

I left the "barely even tries" however because I like the way it sounds even if it is improper English, and maybe this guy does have a little negative feeling towards her since everything he does gets him nowhere- think of how that poor cockatiel was feeling !
