If your talking about buying a quality made guitar for an affordable price,I have three words that will help. BREEDLOVE-BREEDLOVE BREEDLOVE.

I came across your request for George therogoods version of this song and I can't find it anywere. If anyone can point me in the right direction I would appreceate it.

I agree with NUI, Breedlove is awsome. I am also a big Taylor fan, but when I played my first Breedlove there was no question. I bought a "black magic" and since then I have been on there web site every day. Some day (if I ever have the $$$$$) I hope to go to the Breedlove shop and buy a custom guitar, until then I'll keep enjoying mine. Again as always I'm sure you know by now that it's all personal prefrence.

Mine is "Hole Hearted" by extreme. I'm finding it to be near impossable. I don't really have the hours in a day to practice like I use to. But I try as much as I can.

they do tune down 1/2 a step

So they play all the same notes but all flats. Is that what your saying?

I asked this question in another forum. Does anyone know if the song hole hearted by extreme is played in stanard tuning? EADGBE. I cant seem to get the right sound out of my guitar, it sounds like they might tune down.

Can somebody tell me if hole hearted by extreme is played in standard tuning? eadgbe. It sounds like its tuned down. Iknow they play it on a 12 string, but even hearing people play it on a 6 string I can't seem to get the sound.

I just changed the stings yesterday on my Breedlove acoustic/elec, I had D'Adderio EXP  #11's on it and readding through the owners manual I found that they install the same strings at the factory, but they use #12's. I put on the 12's and what a difference, it sounds so much better and the sound has alot more body to it. I can only assume that the Breedlove people know alot more about strings then I do, and thats what their guitars leave the factory with. Not to mention the truss rod is set for those string. (makes a difference)

Hey Ranger 1964, great topic I love hearing about all these different guitars and peoples opinions. Just remember, thats exactly what thay are, OPINIONS. I've heard good guitar players make a $100.00 guitar sound better then my playing on a $2000.00 guitar. I love Taylers and Martins, and I love going to the guitar store and playing all of them, but when it came time to up grade my acoustic electric and actualy put some $$$$ out of my pocket, I wanted to buy one that melted in my hands and sounded great. I'm sure people on this site are getting tired of hearing me say this over and over again, but go and play a Breedlove before you make a purches. Again this is all opinion and of course you should go buy whatever feels right for you.

Every day.  Just every day.  Spreadsheets.  Wow.  That's something.  Good for you on that.  Too much for me.  I work spreadsheets and stay organized all daggone day.  Guitar's the anti-spreadsheet for me, but to each his own.  Keep at it every day, and you'll not be a newbie long.  Get a couple songs under your belt, even if they peek out a little it's all right.  Get you some friends and a campfire and have a go.  So what if you have to play the 59th Bridge song six times straight, it's still Grrooooovvvyyyyy.

Keep it fun, don't get frustrated.  If you can't sing while you play, at least smile.  I'm serious.  It's hard to get angry with yourself if you're smiling, even if it's a fake smile.

I couldn't agree more!!!! KEEP IT FUN. Thats the best advice I've ever heard.Take a simple song you enjoy and just keep adding them as you go. Your progress will be automatic.

Hey zerf, I am a big fan of the Ibanez A/E line. I bought one a little over a year ago and love playing it. It's an AEL20E, if you want to see it you can go to "show us your guitars" on this forum. Go to #21 and it's the red guitar 2nd in from the right. I am thinking of taking it to a proffessional and having the action lowered a little. It never bothered me until I bought my Breedlove, the action on that is very low and now I'm spoiled. Now after playing the higher end guitar, I pick up my Ibaneze and the action seems high. I'm sure for acouple of bucks it will be worth it and easy to fix. Good luck.

Hi, JCellini

You gotta be careful with stuff like that!  You pasted the URL directly after a full stop which sends everything haywire.  I quoted you and separated the URL from the rest of your post... You got some fine looking guitars!

BTW did you get the tuner I sent you a while back?

cool

Thanks, I'm not sure I understand what you did, but thanks. I did find a tuner,Thanks. I have a digital tuner, but I was having problems using it on my 12 string. I found a cheaper one that does the trick. I hope everyone takes your advice on posting there pictures, I love seeing what everyone plays.

Hey bonedaddy, thats great. That might be the easiest way to post your pictures without going through all the trouble of setting up a seperate site. I have pictures in a file, but I can't figure out how to get them here. Can anyone help. I am no Bill Gates.!

Ken, that's quite a range there! I bet you never get borred huh. A few of those I've never seen anything like before. Nice! Peace!

That sounds like a great idea, but I don't really know how to set something like that up. I just tried to put up a site like ken did and couldn't get it to go.

Jerome is correct. The option for posting pics on the forum had to be removed to stop the idiots posting pics of porn.

But you can do what I done and post them on to a site like flickr and then put a link in t he chat section for people to go see your intruments.

here is a pic of nearly all the intruments I have. I have a few more since this was taken about 2 years ago.

This idea came up on one of the threads. I'm not quite sure how to do it yet but I thought it would be a cool idea to post pictures of our guitars and get to see what everybody plays. If anyone can help get this started and maby tell us how to do it I would appriciate it.

They also say that you shouldn't have a floyd rose bridge on your first guitar!  I actually made that up but it took me 2 hours to get the bridge set approximately right cool

hay bonedaddy how did set your bridge? I have an old 12 string I need to lower the action on.

They also say after replacing the strings you should stretch the string a little so it stays in tune.

(35 replies, posted in Acoustic)

I've always heard that as well, but if you go to Taylers web site they remove all the strings at the same time then wax and clean the fret board then put all srtings back on. I would like to hear some other opinions on this topic.

Go and buy your electric guitar. You can play both and learn from each of them, as long as it keeps you interested I say go for it. I have two six string acoustic electrics, a 12 string acoustic, and a solid body electric. I love to play every one of them, and every time I pick up one of my guitars I feel like I get just a little bit better. I am far from satisfied with my playing ability, there is always something to learn. You can't learn everything in one year, remember "SLOW AND STEADY WINS THE RACE".
