hi shaunm,
i have a digitech RP-55 which i use for recording, it's got lots of nice sounds but a royal pain to get them up as it's got two pedals; one for up one for down. i use an ME-50 for stage work, i do covers but want to put my own stamp on the songs so i don't care if it's not exactly as record. i've had Boss multi's before and there seems to be a weakness in the power adaptor, it's cheaper to buy new than have them repaired and they do last for years.
I think the kick-off is at 7.30 pm local time, Saturday? I'm probably wrong as everyone in my local had differing times and opinions. That was a hard game, I don't suppose many came off the pitch un-bruised?
Win or lose it's going to be a great game and party after

One point I forgot to include in my post, is that old Geezers like me HAVE to record separate tracks for instrument and voice, or we'll wind up with a whole stack of trash tracks.
Multi-tasking and doing both things (playing & singing) well, past a certain age becomes..... let's say "less certain".
I am fortunate that I can record a vocal and guitar track at the same time on separate tracks then delete them later if needed to eliminate mistakes and rerecord that track or tracks. I'm lucky to have 24 tracks to play with. Also by the time I get to the end I might have rewritten part of all of the words so the more available tracks the better. I've never used all the tracks on one song but it's nice to know they're there are
thanks Peatle, oh yes very interesting. must be the best series for a long time.
nice to see the old band back together, yes such a shame Chris wasn't there especially when Steve Howe messed up on Owner of a lonely heart and about time they were inducted into the hall of fame.
Thanks for taking the time to listen, Pete and Jandle. I made the recording on my DP24, then I have to transfer the recording to my PC to convert to MP3 which has various FX, this one is chorus. On my PC through headphones it sounds great but when I played it from YouTube on my tablet it doesn't sound so good it's almost fazing like the Small Faces Itchycoo park?
yes, you should be able to fully adjust the reverb, echo might also sound good on some tracks
hi shaun,
have you checked your connecting leads? if you're using a daisy chain then one or more of the jacks or leads may be damaged. good advice above check everything in order. i'd do it before pulling anything to bits.
let us know how you get on?
well done NZ. i watched some of it but it's like American football, i just don't understand the rules! i thought boats were supposed to be in the water not on a couple of sticks????? LOL
you also gave the Lions a bit of a thrashing too. well done lets hope we can win the next test?
hi BGD,
i just looked up the sony pcm, and it looks good, but i believe it's a single track recorder? so....if you want to make multi track recordings, you know add a lead guitar, bass or harmony vocal, i would lay down a guitar/vocal track on your pcm, down-load that to your computer program, you don't say which program you have so i'll take it as audacity? there are multi track options on most DAWS so you'll be able to put your extra instruments/vocals on there and mix down later.
as for FX, you can also add those on most DAWS during or after recording. if you're going to use your PA as a pre-amp for the guitar i would use some reverb and chorus. vocals always sound better with plenty of reverb.
Hi Beamer. None of us that regularly post our own songs or reference other people's songs are happy with the chordpro situation but we do have to grin and bear it. No amount of moaning on so many different forums is going to get it done any quicker. This person ZG wants the penny and the bun, and I'm sorry if I offended anyone but I just lost patience with him and I don't think I'm the only one
This Bill and Dondra
Right back at you mate. We all understand you're both going through the toughest time imaginable for parents. We also understand your focus must now be on Dondra and hers on you. Take your time Chordie is not going anywhere. We're here when you need us.
Love and kisses
Phill and Ann
great answer Doug.
mine would have been "i hope you find one soon and leave us in peace....bye"
i'm with you all the way. i laughed out loud because i know exactly where you're coming from, power tools of the first and second verses. the songs of the third and the fatal addiction of love in the fourth. this is a winner.
WELL THAT'S US TOLD! SO WHY DON'T YOU RESIGN YOUR MEMBERSHIP AND ASK FOR YOUR SUBSCRIPTION RETURNED? OH! NO ONE PAYS A SUBSCRIPTION, MAYBE YOU'D BE HAPPY WITH MY SHARE OF THE PICKLES WE GET FOR KEEPING THE SITE CLEAR OF RAVING LUNATICS AND SPAMMERS? THAT WAS A JOKE, YOU MUST KNOW WHAT THAT'S LIKE? Let me remind you of the rules: spam, abuse, bad language and threats are bannable offences and in my opinion you are stretching the line to the limit. You sound like a petulant child, stamping your feet because you cant get your own way. Man up, you've been informed of a work around, try it or do you just want everything laid out on a plate for your easy use?
I will probably get a slapped wrist for this reply, but it was worth it.

It's a song but not as I know it! It's so confusing...two lines that rhyme, one that doesn't, then a fourth line that rhymes with the first two? I said confusing not bad. I wish I had the guts and the talent to do it.
I then listened to your recording....first line is five beats, second is four beats etc I also noticed one or two lines with just three! As I said confusing. I'm a strict 4/4 or 3/4 kinda guy which is why when I've covered one of your songs I normalise them to suit my style. I realise now I might have been wrong?
You're writing talent is phenomenal and I intend to give this a close look and play later, warning, I may need to alter a few things to suit my style...again.
Didn't you wake the house up banging out on the guitar at 4.45 am?
Hmmm I think that is my trouble exactly Phill ......... my timing can be ALL OVER THE PLACE too and I don`t strictly stick to 4/4 or 3/4 timing (I do with cover songs - mostly) but when it comes to original songs, I can be all over the place. The last time I tried to cover one of Jim`s song and my son was going to use his fancy recording equipment to record me and I was supposed to sing the song to the set beats ................ I was all over the place (as I just sing it as I hear it or can play it lol) ......... ended up my son quitting on me, told me he couldn`t record me lol. The outcome since then ....... I haven`t recorded another original song as I realized I am not keeping time. Probably comes from only learning to play instruments and trying to sing publically in the last few years ...... being self taught probably doesn`t help either lol
Hi jandle
Tell your son he or you don't necessarily need a click track/metronome, perfect timing sometimes detract from the spontinaety of a song. Failing that, maybe he should record a backing track for you to add your vocals later?
Yep, looking forward to that. I got interested in music back in the early 50 s so I can't wait to get involved with that topic.
I saw one very similar if not the same two weeks ago but the wife was with me and she's only got time for clothes shopping so no try no buy! Went to that store last week but it's gone....life is a female dog!
Hi KIR, I noticed you posted same time as me which is why I didn't pass on my sympathys. Sorry for your loss.
It's holiday season. I've already been away twice so I guess others may be doing the same?
Several members have complained of not getting replies, so why post when it gets ignored?
I check Chordie most mornings and have noticed the lack of real posts, plenty of spam which Doug sorts out for the most part, he never gets a mention for his good work by the way so, I'll do it WELL DONE DOUG.
Let's hope we can get some conversation going
Hi Jim.

Yep, it's definitely off the naughty step. I never thought of it warping....even in a good way!
about 10 years ago i packed up my fender strat because of some wear on the fretts and fingerboard. well that was my excuse!
i bought it back in 1972 from new, (a Mexican) left hand of course and in white. well i gigged it constantly in the 70's, 80's and 90's and some of the naughties. truth is i was never happy with the sound i got from it, so after buying a lot of different FX pedals including a cry baby wah wah, chorus, echo, fuzz etc then boss multies i gave up and bought an awful lump of firewood i wont name then my lovely telecaster.
so for quite a while i've been meaning to get it out and give it a go on my new pedals.....the action is superb, the sound was very raunchy and i couldn't detect that string buzz i had when i mothballed it.
can a guitar mend itself? or was it as happy as me to get it out of the box for a little while?
Not necessarily Doug. Over the years any metallic surface will collect dirt and grime, it will also wear with handling throwing the pitch. Of course it doesn't help to have tinnitus ringing constantly in your ears! Though I can still tune using harmonics, but you still need to get one string in perfect pitch.
