Re: Buzz (20 replies, posted in Electric)
Its a ground issue, a lot of guitars will do that (strat type / single coil in first toggle position are notorious for low dollar types)) but not very bad. when you touch the bridge, you become the ground. but in your case,, I would recommend something like this http://www.musiciansfriend.com/accessor … ian-bundle or this if you think your cable is good
http://www.musiciansfriend.com/accessor … er-pro-200 (but 10 more for another cable is a good deal!)
It sounds like your out in the sticks,, So your power supply may not be the cleanest. Im betting this can help.

Pappa, Have you tried Ccleaner? and then Defragler. my mothers puter was not working till i had her use it and it is now running good.
have ccleaner do teh clean then have it do the registry, when it asks if you want to back up the Reg,, i just always say no. it will clean a lot of junk out and let your puter "breath" again. then get defragler from the same company who does ccleaner. its a great prog. and they are both free and trustworthy

Re: If Your Guitar is Talking to You (4 replies, posted in Acoustic)
as a cheap prevention,, my guitar room has one of the 2 main intakes for the furnace and
A/C I have just put a large bowl of water in front of it. it picks up the needed moisture and the room also can get it on its own. this is all theory though as I dont have a hydrometer to test it,, but I have noticed my guitars are not as dry as last year and staying in tune better

Re: Boss GT pedals (5 replies, posted in Guitars and accessories)
I presently have a Digitech Rp255 also. It is a nice unit, but there's a few things about it I think could be better. It's very good for getting a specific sound, the USB interface works very well, it's nice and compact, I'm just looking for way to easily adjust your sound on the fly while playing. With the Digitech, I think if you were performing, and had a series of sounds you wanted to use, you'd almost have to sequence them all as presets, and almost have to play your set in a predetermined order.
I know what you mean on that,, so what I do is find a setting that I like on the RP,, say a good slightly drivin sound with the reverb and the EQ and maybe delay, use that as a base and then use my MXR Full Bore distortion to put it over the top, or use my flanger. I have a few stomps connected to it on the back side of the chain. Works out great for me. (but then again I just love a bunch of stomp boxes)
Do you know how to get the pedal to be asignable to turn an effect on and off with the rock of the pedal? I downloaded a patch (have you done that from the RP web site? 100s of user patches) that does that and its very cool.
Cheers ![]()

Re: Buzz (20 replies, posted in Electric)
Laney amps are good, used to have one and wish I still did. It sounds like a loose ground to me,, but you should take it a shop. you may have what phoil said a mad earth ground. have you tried it in a different plug? or at a different house? ask your neighbor if you can test from a room at his house and see if you get that buzz. All else take it to a shop and have both checked. Is your cable in good shape? that could cause noise also.

Re: Boss GT pedals (5 replies, posted in Guitars and accessories)
I see this is a first post, You should introduce yourself in teh chordi chat section and tell us about yourself. I have never used a Boss station, but most ppl like them. if you are near a guitar center, they have all their toys around for you to test drive. I have Digitech rp250, still have not used it to its full ability. Have you checked out the Vox Tone works board? Boss stuff is rugged and most always kicks butt.

Re: When do you re string (17 replies, posted in Guitars and accessories)
wipe down your strings after each day of playing. using some string ease or fast fret will help keep them brite. Then there is the cheep way, mist a little mineral oil on a shammy or microfiber cloth and pinc a string in it and go up and down the string, you can also clean/moisturize your fret bd at the same time. (main in grediant in both above products is mineral oil and lemon oil).
but I think I actually change strings twice a year!. I dont paly every night, so they last a while. but like Z said.^ (if you have more than one guitar it can be pricy to do all at the same time.)

Have not asked Momma about this yet but I just found tickets with spirit air for 189. I would have to ship my cloths and guitar via UPS cause the baggage charge is unreal for the airline, but the ticket is cheep. I would probably stay in Clearwater with a HS friend whom i have not seen in 25 yrs. she may even join us for the party. As I said chances are slim,, but its a weak maybe.
