Last Rebel...about time you do this..banjo is a very fun insrument to play, easy on the fingers and chords are not too difficult..three styles of playing to choose or do maybe many variarions as well ie. Bela Fleck...old timey claw hammer very good when done correctly like my teacher back in North Carolina, Scrugs style three finger picking, good  ol' Irrish as well but you probably have a 5 string no problem..check out   http://www.musicmoose.org/  very good instruction by some great players and of course it's FREE..I'll help any way i can..let me know..also one last thing ,,find a place to hole up to practise its what banjo players call shedding fiddlers know this as well..its due to the tolerance level of others..Good luck my friend glad to see someone else with the guts to be a   BANJO PLAYER  ..marcalan

Hey all..
I've had the distinct honor and pleasure of working with Lena on this song. A combined effort on our part to describe the long distant relationship that we have and I know that others have experienced as well. Love is the most powerful Spirit and truely will not be denied.
I hope you will enjoy this tune... I give a deep bow to a wonderful, talented woman who is able to inspire, even me.

Have a listen....

I know this is not a new topic but one heck of a frustration for me and maybe others.

When I first found chordie I used to be able to print and the chord DIAGRAMS would show. Alas now they dont and have not for some time. I use alot of variations of chords for the different instruments I play and dont always rremember the shapes..HELP ME OUT HERE GUYS...marcalan

Thanks Peeps for your responses. Thanks for the chording.  I was thinking em to am; thenG to dim D to a Dim A for the chorus but what ever anyone likes the message is the same.  I for one do not intend to spiril down the drain clockwise or counterclockwise.  And to think I was once a republican conservative and voted for this jerk however the alternatives were gloomy at the time.  Oh well my confession...I see things differently now and have my eyes wide open instead of wide shut. And as Lena would say hopefully more able to spot a CHANCER in any party.  Ill keep going on then knowing I have supporters and common minds with me.  Thanks to you lets stop and make a difference like we did in the begining.  marcalan

I apologize straight off for not having chords to this.  I woke early this morning to the sound of someone rummaging in the dumpster. I looked out the blind and saw a woman, youngish going through the bin for bottles and cans to exchange for money.  This is everywhere here and it made me angry. So my mates in the States and all fellow Chordies I challenge you to help me with the chords to this. Maybe if you do this it will be your first effort to bring back the pride we have for our country.Dems, Republics, middle roaders, lets speak out. Lets stop the Lady from crying.

Wake Up                                                               m. mcvicker 2008

Early in the morning
there’s nothing else to do
but stop my shivering body
from the coldness and the dew

Underneath the bridge here, we all find a space;
to lay our weary bodies and escape the maddening pace.
I’ll start my route this morning
and ride it all day long,
to find the cans and bottles
that makes my life go on.

  They’re killing us in Afghanistan
  They’re killing us in Iraq
And back here in the States
they’ve got us commoners on our backs.

What were you thinking?
Look at what you’ve done.
From your posh tax paid office, in bloody Washington.
We used to tar and feather;  when we saw snake oil men like you.
To bad that was abolished
You deserve your share too.

  They’re killing us in Afghanistan
  They’re killing us in Iraq
And back here in the States
they’ve got the common man on our backs

I think its time we say something.
In fact its long over due.
What say we kick these punks out of office,
And take back what we know is true.

I was born and raised here, I know what I say.
I was a soldier for my country;  I’d die for her this day.
But when I see this going on around me
I know I have the right
because the freedom I provided,  helped us sleep at night
Oh people can you hear me?
Oh people cant you see?
The woman cries in the harbor ,
“Where can America be?

  They’re killing us in Afghanistan
  They’re killing us in Iraq
And back here in the States
they’ve got us on our backs
