It looks very difficult to bring together.  I think you are doing great so far.  Practice, man, practice.

I wish you and everyone else there the best of luck, bushy.  I've seen the videos on the news.  It's devastating.

I'm glad I don't have your dog.  I might have to quit playing.  No telling what he'd do when I play.

I'll be sure to check it out, even if it makes me feel bad.

The girl almost looks like shes a million miles away.  They are great.  As I have always told myself, you either have it or you don't, which is why I have to practice like crazy just to play half as good as them.  Go figure.

I don't know either, but why don't you have him fix it again and ask him what you owe him, then ask him what he normally charges.  Then meet him somewhere in between.  Good luck.

That's excellent advice, however I have bought two guitars online over the years and am happy with both.  There is usually a 30 day return option from most music stores, so if you just don't like it, you can send it back.  And being confident of the brand is another important decision, as was stated.

Welcome harold.  I don't believe I have seen this before.  Can you point us to an example?

A good game plan, Zurf.  I have three notebooks full of songs that I can play fairly good, but mostly still have to look when I play.  They are separated by Country, Rock and Other.  They are also on my computer in a program called Songbook.  I just go through all these songs constantly and notice myself getting better at the strumming and singing each time I come back to a song.

I used to enjoy Jay and the Americans because of their clean crisp operatic voice and pop/rock combination.  They had many good songs.

Here's a short old thread on first songs learned.

I admire some of you for being able to remember more than a couple of songs by heart.  This is something that I have never allowed myself to do for some reason.  Once you are used to constantly look at the music, it makes it really tough to do from memory.  I have a real hard time at it.  I am content just to bring out the sheets.

Just a normal obstacle in the path of great guitar players.  It willget better.  You might go a day or so in between playing for awhile.  They will turn into hard fingertips over a short time.  Just keep at it.  And welcome to Chordie.  No pain, no gain.

This question comes up a lot.  Look through the forums and you will find lots of answers to this question.  It really all depends on what type of music you like.  You will usually learn faster if you learn something that you already know the melody to. Also, go to the songbooks section and there you will find beginners songs.  Lots of them.
Oh, and welcome to Chordie.

Yep, I am taking my time, but that time is coming up soon.  In a month or two, I hope.  My nerves are shot, but I am excited everyday.

Well, it seems as though I am also a thumb wrapper.  It is a hard thing to beat.

To see if that is the way for you to go, pick out a favorite poem from a book and set it to music.  That will tell you if you are caopable of doing it in that order.  If that is difficult, then you may have to come up with a melody first.

From all my reading in the forums here, it may be possible that Claude Johnson teaches guitar hero.  What do you guys think.

I like that analogy, jerome.

I'm with Russell.  If it blows your skirt up, do it.  No shame there.  Guitar Hero is a game.  Nothing wrong with games, but Me not being a game person, to speak of, I would rather use my energy working at becoming better ion the real thing.  Good luck on both.
