My advice on thumb picks would be, Fred Kelly’s. His speed picks and slick picks are the only ones I use. I’ve tried so many over the years. I use the mediums and are orange in color. Give them a try they are light and dainty. They work very well for Travis style finger picking.

Thanks,
Wayne P

Still not looking good for us, but with a recent buy out of the company I work for its possible I could be laid off.
Then it will party time 😎

Sorry Tops,
Won't be able to make it, I work a 14 day on and 14 off rotation. It lands in the middle of my 14 on. Hopefully next time.........

Topdawgz,
It would be be great to have you, there will be a retired States Attorney here, you could keep him in line😎 I can't play one finger lead so you'll be fine..

Zurf, you probably need a little break from the rat race, all that work will be there waiting when you get home😎

Billco,
I don't know him but I'll ask around, it's a small community...

Hello Everyone,

Just wanted to send out an invitation to any Chordie folks that would like to join Liz, friends and I in a weekend jam, Sept-18-20th.
We live in Whitewood SD. We are about 35 miles from Rapid City, 10 miles from Historic Deadwood, 5 miles from Sturgis and 14 miles from Spearfish. Hope it is not to short of notice, but wanted to make sure Miss Liz was going to be up for it. She is doing great and Kicked Cancers Butt.
It will be a great time with lots of food and drinks. The Great news is Topdown will be here handling Security. The Deadwood Jam is going on this weekend also. There will be lots to see and do. Tourist rates are down then too and makes it easier on the pocket book.

Later Wayne P.

Jeff Taylor, can sing don't let him try and fool you. His cover of Monster Mash is second to none!!

I love circle jams and I also love PA systems, can't wait it'll be good either way!!!

Liz and I will be there, a coworker is gonna cover for me so It's a go!

I will do my best to make it, a week earlier would have been a perfect fit for us. Hopefully we can make it.

Nela,

I love the Yairi guitars, I'm sure it will be very nice. 12 strings no matter the brand can problems, look it over real good and if its straight I'm sure it will have killer sound. All the Yairi's I have played have been as good as anything out there.

Practice,

Ed,

Thanks for the kind words. There was lots of talent on display including Dirty Ed, great songwriter and guitarist. I had a wonderful time playing with everyone. I have said it many times before but there is nothing like getting together with other musicians and having fun. I felt bad for Tony "aka" SouthPaw41L, he had lost his voice and for those that haven't heard Tony perform, that's what I call Talent. Big thanks to Amy for helping me out with some backing vocals along with Lizzie B.

Some observations, Zurf has really stepped up his game. Jeff is bound and determined to make the Big Time if we can get him to slow the Tempo down smile . I am very proud of Amy for the dedication and poise she is showing. Dirty Ed will keep writing tunes, some a little Dirty. Scott and Robert's enthusiasm was contagious. I absolutely loved Jamming with Tony, Bee Rad and Wyatt. It was a shame Steve on Acoustic Bass wasn't plugged, he absolutely kicks butt. It got a little Bluesy but that was so fun.

Big thanks to Jeff "Topdown" and all the other Floridian's for making us feel right at home. Doesn't get much better than that!

Big Atta Boy to Jeff, he is a great host and puts a a lot of effort in to making this happen. The joy of music and gathering of musicians is something that is really special.

Life is just not fair, cancer is awful. Sorry Deadstring.

Jerome is right on this one, I use a capo a lot and it is good practice to try different keys to find the sweet spot for your voice. When moving the capo around strum a chord and try a few different keys with the capo. It's good practice and helps your ear..............
