very nice except that i would say that accoustic rule.

sure they are harder to play and some begginers get frustrated but in the long run playing an accoustic first helps

its always easy to switch from accoustic to electric but hard to do vice versa

(13 replies, posted in Songwriting)

first just pick a key you want to sing in .

after that play around with the chords in that key for example:

say you want to play in Cmajor it might go like

                C F C G Dm F Am G

that would make a nice verse progression

then do something simple for your chorus like

                C F C F C Am F

Then do something for an interlude

start by just playing around with the Cmajor and Cmajor pentatonic scales and add a few bends and accidentals

Heres the two scales:

major

---------------------------7-8-

-----------------------8-10----

-----------------7-9-10--------

-----------7-9-10--------------

-----7-8-10--------------------

-8-10--------------------------

major pentatonic

------------------------8-10---

-------------------8-10---------

---------------7-9--------------

-----------7-10-----------------

------7-10----------------------

-8-10---------------------------

4/17/05

Im Alive

Lying awake again tonight

Cause thoughts of you wont let me

Close my eyes

And in my mind I see the place

Youre there as I touch your face..

Tossing and turning the whole time

Visions of you all through my mind

Day after day I make a wish

I cant keep going on like this......

chorus>*Why cant I show you who I am

How can I be in your life

It only eats me up inside

that you dont know

that Im alive oh oh

you dont know that

Im Alive...

They say you cant fall off the floor

Am I only hurting myself more

I need to stop these tears from flowing

I cannot blame you for not knowing

[back to chorus*]

As I lay me down to sleep

I say a prayer for God to keep

You safe and well

For one more day

Until I find a way...To show you who I am

I will be in your life

It wont eat me up inside

You'll know Im alive

You will know that Im alive...

(Song starts to fade and these words are heard

Somehow I need

To make you see that

You are

Where I wanna be.</font>

Am C G

Cry yourself to sleep my boy,

Am C G

The time has come for you to grow.

Am C G

Cry yourself to sleep my boy,

Am C G

Your time has gone before you know.

They say,

Only look forward never look back,

Your lifes in the future the past is all black.

Historys forgotten as we run this rat-race,

Its covered in concrete as we fight for more space.

Question the reasons they give you for why,

You should live as they say and not how you try.

Look with your own eyes see beyond what you're told,

Stand up be counted we can never be sold.

Cry yourself to sleep my boy,

No youth for you that time has past.

Cry yourself to sleep my boy,

No innocence that cannot last.

So what happens now to those left behind?

Their prayers are unanswered theres no longer a shrine.

The names that were worshipped left them corrupted and stranded,

Our children are lost their souls are left branded.

Cry yourself to sleep my boy,

The time has come for you to grow.

Cry yourself to sleep my boy,

Your time has gone before you know.

Cry yourself to sleep my boy,

No youth for you that time has past.

Cry yourself to sleep my boy,

No innocence that cannot last.

Cry yourself to sleep my boy,

Cry yourself to sleep my boy...

Stand tall, smile wide

Gleam with pride

Do it with the bling bling on the inside

Shine bright, keep it tight

Keep in bonafide

Roll with the bling bling on the inside

Keep it real, right and true

Take it all in stride

Do this with the bling bling on the inside

Don't live a lie, myopic eye

It's easy to decide

Do this with the bling bling on the inside

Seen the other side, gave it chance

Tried and tried

It's more fun with the bling bling on the inside

Fought for, fought with

Anti and allied

Life's cooler with the bling bling on the inside</font>

while i dont play guitar from sheet music i think its important to learn how to read music. if you play any other kind of instument like a trumpet or sax your gonna need to know how to read musical notation. it will also help your guitar playing

you need to specify what kind of rock your looking for

do you want modern, classic, or metal, or whatever youll get a better response if they know what your looking for.
