Again I'm hoping that my friends here at Chordie will help me out. I'd like to try a couple of Dwight Yoakam songs.
      1- Understand Your Man
      2- I Wanna Love Again
I can't find anything in the places that I have to look. What to do? What to do?

We can range anywhere from 70 degrees at night to 85 during the day. The odd day it will get into the 90's.  The high humidity and high 90's will come later in late July- August. I live in the south eastern corner of Ontario. Very close to our nation's capitol of Ottawa.

Can any of my friends at Chordie help me find a couple of songs (lyric & chords )
1- I'm Working On My Next Broken Heart-Brooks & Dunn
2- I Fell In The Water- John Anderson
Thanks In Advance
JV

Trial and error my friend! If you don't blow it up, which I doubt will happen, you'll find the sound you want. Just get a basic this to that connection in place, and start turning knobs. Some of the best music comes from mistakes. It's only as complicated as you make it. Have fun and enjoy your new toy!

John Prine, Willie Nelson, Roy Orbison, John Lennon, Dwight Yoakam, Stevie Ray Vaughn, C.S.N.Y., Jerry Jeff Walker, Kris Kristofferson, David Allen Coe, The Traveling Wilburys, The Fabulous Thunder Birds, Joe Cocker........

I like to think of myself as somewhere in the middle. I think I'm really good till I hear someone that is!! Even if I could play some lead, I still prefer to play rhythm. You can get into the "groove" and just bang away with what you feel in the beat. Pickers are to picky about being perfect. Strummers just play along and smile.

DINO---it was actually a "greaser-band". Sha Na Na with Johnny Vitalis(a cross between Billy Idol and Dwight Yoakam) in front. I used two to three tubes of Brylcreem in my hair alone. We were anything but clean!!!

Johnny Vitalis was my old stage name. The band was called---Johnny Vitalis and the Brylcreem Kids featuring the V.O.5's plus Conditioner. The V.O.5's plus Conditioner were the 6 female backup singers. Some people still to this day still only know me as Johnny.

I found out from the guy that gave it to me, that he had in a couple of years ago for repairs, at a local Music Store. I called the store and asked their "tech" about it. He said that there is no mother company. That SILK ROAD is a brand name in itself.
I too came across the "car-speaker" page in my search but found nothing that was even close, there either.
tubatooter is close. It is defiantly weather proof and shot-gun proof. I wanted the manual for it to see if I can use it as an add on to another system, or find a comparable mate and build on it. If it stands alone can I run vocals and instrument through together. What works best in where ETC.
I have learned a lot about the spice/garment trade routes of ancient India though!!

Thanks for the help so far my fellow Chordians

Standing tall it is 22"  - horn on top, speaker on bottom
16" across the front, slanting back to 8" across the back
12" from back to front, (thick)
weighs at least 65 lbs.
Very hard black plastic (almost steel) casing.
has feet (knobs) for standing upright or laying on its' side,  has built in handle on top if laying on its' side like a monitor.

As far as taking it apart!!! the thing is sealed up like Fort Knox,
there are what looks like "rivets" holding the "panel" in at the back.
I think the only way in would be a blow torch!!!

there are 3 sets of plug ins in the back, each with separate vol. control.
Line in, line out and mic.
under the three are treble and bass adjustment knobs.
beside the power out let it reads 350 watts.
there does not seem to be any joints, seems or screws on any of the surface.
the screen is a standard black steel mesh covering the speaker. the horn is open.

I hope this will help SOMEBODY recognize this thing.

By the way --this thing can blast out the windows all by itself!!
Again - hope this helps

I have come into possession of a self powered monitor with the name "Silk Road CE" on the front. That is the only name, number, plate anything.
Does any one know who makes this, and where to get an operators manual for it?
thanks

I have been a performer most of my life but never as an individual solo act. With the help of Chordie and its' Moderators and members I can now make this dream a reality.  Only second to my wifes' encouragment, Chordie is the main reson for this accomplishment. I special thanks goes out to mekidsmom for helping me find so many songs.
Johnny Vitalis
( Steve Boileau )

I use a book light and two large elastic bands around my song book to hold it open in place. A little late for your weekend, but try it next time.

Some fellow posted a song book just a little while back named Zapp Dave. I knew a fellow in western Canada named Dave that was nicknamed Zapp becuase if this guy got within 10 ft. of a mic he would get a shock. One hell of a great guitar player though. Just wondering if it would be the same guy?
