What type of guitar are you playing? If it's acoustic you can fix it with a sound hole cover. If it is semi or full hollow you could find foam hole fillers that cut the feedback. If it is solid it could take a number of things to get it right but an eq pedal would be a good place to start. Hope this helps and good luck.

I know its been a while since I've visited regularly and I do have to agree that this is and has always been the most cival, helpful and friendly members. Thank you to you all including the mods.  I definately need to share more here again and meet all the new chordians.

Maybe you could transpose it to a different key for easier chords them capo it to your vocal key. Maybe the key of G capoed on the 5th fret to get the real key of C will work for you. Good luck.

Zurf i'm with you on not remembering what i can when it's time. I have a book of over 100 asst songs some even written by myself that i can play but only remember maybe 10 without looking.  DS I like the idea of a laptop and flashdrive for campfire jams. I'll have to try that.

The Zoom A2.1 U pedal should be all any acoustic player should need for effects. They are awesome.

I've always thought that an acoustic should be tried before buying it because theres only so much that can be done to one to increase its worth. As for an electric it has more that can be done to it to make it better and as long as you buy from a reputable dealer that allows returns then you should be fine. What are you looking for in particular?

Semi hollow or chambered solid. A full hollow may be a little too airy sounding for you. I've also heard a tele with a humbucker in the neck position have some sweet tone like you're after. That and a low gain setting on any good tube amp and a few select solid state amps.

Open E is used in quite a few good songs.

You will want an acoustic with solid tone woods which a decent one will cost you around $300. As for the electronics that can be added later. That or look for a used A/E with at least a solid top. There's a big difference that you will appreciate the older it gets.

These look very nice and Agile has proven to be a very good brand.

Really good stuff there. Thanks for the heads up!

Ibanez make a troubadour 35w acoustic which is well worth looking at. It also has a mike input.
Rob

I can vouch for the Troubadour TA35. It has built in reverb and chorus a speaker out line, mic input, tilt cab, optional footswitch and 10" speaker that sounds really good. I think they are still available for under $300 US.

I was drawn to guitar as a young child of 5 when i though that Elvis was the only pro musician alive even though he had already passed away. I grew up with 5 uncles that were always playing guitar in kitchen jams and in the bars and i got the itch to learn too so my parents bought me a Roy Clark acoustic guitar and a few lessons. Well i stuck with it for a few months then the guitar got busted by an angry dad early one morning. Time went by about 20 years i guess then the guitar started calling to me again so this time my wife bought me a Jasmine acoustic by Takamine and a beginners lesson book. I taught myself the basic chords including the B and the F and all barr chords and worked at it with online lessons and now i am better than my uncles ever were and still learning. I play everyday with one of the five guitars i have and have written 3 complete songs just this month. I still only play out of my love for it and the relaxation benifit and use it in my personal worship time. I just hope one of my kids will want to learn so they too can feel the passion for real music.

I just want my kids to have a good Christmas. If i have any left over after everyone else gets gifts i'd like to try out the SX Furrian Thinline Tele or a Jay Turser paisley or rosewood Tele.

Martin 1 Series are great at the price youre looking for but i'm not sure how easy the Cedar top will be to find. The Takamine EF740SGN looks like it would fit your description minus the cutaway but priced nicely at around $700 new and you know the quality on a good Takamine as well as i do. Then there is the Boulder Creek ECRM4-N that looks just like something i could see you playing. It is deffinately worth checking out cause i've never seen another acoustic like it.

I have a couple of Takamines that are sub $700 guitars and the only thing i have found better is the higher end Taylors, Gibsons, and Martins. I have tried a couple that are almost as good in the same price and they are Walden, Carvin, and Morgan Monroe. You might want to check those out if youre shoppin around.

Congrats on the Martin i'll bet it sounds awesome. A great amp to go with it is the Fishman loudbox 100. It has all of the bells a whistles needed to make that Martin sound as good plugged in for a pretty large crowd.

Open D or drop D is it the same? Either way an easy one is Tangled Up In You by Staind.

Zurf it sounds like God has something special in store for Gary because he has brought him through all of this and i have faith to believe that God hasn't changed his mind and this surgery will be a success. I will keep Gary in my prayers.

The SX, Douglas and Agile guitars are top notch begginer, intermediate, or pro guitars and affordable enough to modify into an outstanding performer guitar. They can be found at Rondomusic.com ranging in price from $70 to $600. The Jay Turser and Xavier guitars are also very affordable and quality made.

I had one for about a year. Nice unit...   What are you curious about??
It was clean, the affects were good, accurate tuner, decent drum beats, I'd give it a thumbs up.... Never had any trouble at all from it and it was easy to use. Sold it about a year ago though to help finance G.A.S. sad

I was just thinking about getting one to tinker about with and maybe use it for the tuner, drums and alt guitar voices. Does it have recording capabilities and could it be used with an electric guitar too and still sound ok?

The Tele has been proven to be one of the three most versatile guitars made. Everyone should have at least one in thier arsenal. I'm gassin hard for a Fender Tele AM Deluxe now.

Has anyone used any multi effects with you acoustic/electric instruments. I was wondering how well the Zoom A2.1U works. I've watched demos for it on youtube but you only get so much from a sales point. Anyone use this or know anything of it?

The last three i've learned is..
Oceans From The Rain by Seventh Day Slummber
Redsky by Brandon Heath
Come Home Running by Chris Tomlin
I haven't been able to get any new songs to try since my home pc has crashed. I'm glad i print all of my songs because without them i could only play about 10 songs and half of them i would mess up.lol
