hi grah, is camden a suburb increte?

as someone that has to follow his wife around the shops, buskers are a welcome respite, camden council want to license buskers to make an extra few shillings, like speed cameras and congestion charges. why cant they let musicians do what they do in peace, they're only trying to earn a crust.

thnaks dino, we try to please.

keepitreal, glad you like it, fame at last.

i will be posting the recording soon, let you know.

so wigster, if your unlikely to post 100 posts like the 3 you've done, what is the problem? the forum is for chordie members to discuss stuff in a nice way. also to ask and recieve help in matters musical or computer stuff. i'm in my 60's also and i dont understand a lot of the tech-talk so i just get on with what i know. if the autoscroll works on your laptop why not just use that?

chordie is here for all even the ones that are here to take and not give back

i thought i'd put this up as it's all about a busker and the hardships he goes through. it's a thankless job.

Don't Care. Undefined

[E] I'm sitting in the garden strumming [D] chords.

And singing songs to [E] myself.

[E] No-one ever listens to [D] me.

So my songs go [E] unheard.

[A] Don't listen, don't listen, don't like it don't want to, don't. [E]

Don't [A] listen, don't listen, don't like it don't want to, don't [B] care.

[E] I'm standing near the station singing [D] songs.

Some people throw pennies in my [E] hat.

No one really listens to [D] me.

I wont argue with [E] that.

[A] Don't listen, don't listen, don't like it don't want to, don't [E] care.

Don't [A] listen, don't listen, don't like it don't want to, don't [B] care.

(CHORUS)

[Dbm] Everyday I do the same things.

[Ab] Breakfast in the morning, eating out of tins.

[F#m] Writing words on scraps of paper.

[B] Hoping some day someone will stop and [E] hear.

(SOLO; E-D-E| E-D-E| )

[A] Don't listen, don't listen, don't like it don't want to, don't [E] care.

Don't [A] listen, don't listen, don't like it don't want to, don't [B] care.

[E] I haven't made enough to feed the [D] dog.

Not enough to feed my-[E] self.

If no one pays to listen to my [D] songs.

Put a penny in my [E] hat.

[A] Don't listen, don't listen, don't like it don't want to, don't [E] care.

Don't [A] listen, don't listen, don't like it don't want to, don't [B] care.

(CHORUS)

[A] Don't listen, don't listen, don't like it don't want to, don't [E] care.

Don't [A] listen, don't listen, don't like it don't want to, don't [E] care.

[A] Don't listen, don't listen, don't like it don't want to, don't [E] care.

Don't [A] listen, don't listen, don't like it don't want to, don't [B] care.

Don't you dare stop.....[E]

i've recieved beamers words, even though i'm not really that godly they look good. i havent tried them next to the track yet, i'll do that a little later. i'm waiting with baited breath to hear beamers words sung over the track.

thanks guys, it was just a case of plonking out a few chords then sticking different instruments on over dubs. i'd never even thought of putting lyrics on it...something to think about though.

hi guys, i was sitting at the piano and a chord sequence came to my fingers and developed into this track. i've called it "nuns song" because i had a track on my new CD called "monk song" and anyway i couldnt think of a title. so if you'd like to give it a listen and comment, please follow the link below.

hi grah, i think the government health warning in your post does the job, if anyone is offended then dont listen. i like it, echo's of lennon and dylan (only shorter). fine job

i've been buying and using PA's and speakers since the 70's. as has been mentioned above leave a little head room, eg; 100 watt amp - 150 watt speakers (combined) for clarity of sound and avoidance of blowing the cones. back then we'd try to get the lowest ohmage to be able to push out the greater wattage. but with the last set of speakers i bought it seems to be the other way round?
must remeber that the size of your connecting leads also adds resistence, so the thicker the better.

EACH 8 OHM SPEAKER YOU ADD REDUCES THE OHMAGE ; 1 - 8 OHM SPEAKER = 8 OHMS. 2 8 OHM SPEAKER = 4 OHMS. 3 8 OHM SPEAKERS = 2.66 OHMS (or something like that).

best thing is to check out on-line tutorials if your still confused, i've tried to make it simple.

the vision of a couple of pensioners rolling around the floor trying to get a better grip made me laugh a bit. though knowing you russ, i wouldnt like to ruffle your feathers too much (or trade punches)

hi ark, yes it's true what you say, but how many times have you heard a song on the radio for instance and when you go to find it, it's not called what you thought it was, ergo; the hook! so the song was mistitled?

jon anderson paints beautiful pictures with his words; "mountains come out of the sky and they stand there..." he is well known for using words that sound good rather than have deeper meaning. though when you first read them they sound soooo deep and meaningful.

i've done a couple of instrumentals which i've dedicated to people rather than named them for how they sound or what they remind me of...

great song well written, beautifully described, sad part is that i've known too many biker friends who've ended up in the last verse of your song.

i had already decided to call the song "any minute now", which is the hook, i couldn't name it after the story (theme) as it hasn't really got a story line. it's not quite "do wah diddy diddy dum diddy doo" or "the birdies dance" it's slightly more intellegent, i just thought it would make a nice talking point.

therin lies the nub! if you have a good hook, the listener will remember the song from the hook, eg "lying eyes". other songs/music use the descriptive "apache" which has that native american beat. on the other hand...beethovens 5th?

i was writing a new song and came to a quandry...when looking for a title for the song would you use the "hook"? or a discriptive title?

i would be very interested in your thoughts on this matter.
