Does anyone know what the best programme to use is?i have a old copy of cool edit pro vers.2 but cant record my guitar an playback what ive recorded to sing with.magix music maker can.any opinions on that?any other sugestions?

I have a old Carson(dunno if anyones heard of it before) it has an OK sound.A buddy of mine has a SX which cost him quite abit.it sounds superb!my question is-If i get the same strings(Dedario's)will they make my guitar sound any beter?I dont want to buy expensive strings for no reason

i have bulit up a distortion circuit which sounds pretty hectic but im just un sure of what switch to use, should i use a switch where you click it on and it stays on until switched off or a push switch where you hold it in when distortion is needed?how are the bought one's done?
