Many thanks to all, it has at least given me some options.
Will find someone who can cost for neck reset as the tone
is brilliant and proberbly worth considering the reset.
Once again cheers.
John.
PS. The bridge is rock solid!

Bulge is in the lower bout, behind the bridge, resulting in high action.
The make is an Angelica drednought Japanese made 60's/70's
can play this guitar but have to lower the saddle quite a lot.
It is a good quality guitar and I think it's worth spending some time on, perhaps a little money to!
Thanks for your interest.
Cheers.
John.
PS. There is a little blooming in the varnish on the back, perhaps at some point left in a damp place I think!

Hi, anybody know how to fix this?
I've taken all the strings off and have it  clamped at the moment.
I can leave this for awhile, hoping that in time it will lower!
not sure if this will work.
Any advice please.
Cheers.
John.

I agree with 25 Frankster, I bought Elixir anti rust strings and guess what? the B & E strings had rust on them, they where replaced by the seller with a complete new pack which still had rust on them. Gone back to D'Addario custom lights. as 25Frankster said , a good time to check over the guitar is when you are  changing strings.
Cheers.
John.
P.S I found them too zingy for me!

Roger, yes your right, I have been vey careful not to go where I have not been before and it has paid off.
The entrance to the trussrod nut is round, but push the allen key further in and guess what, it fits.
Problem solved!
P.S I love this site so many helpful like minded folks.
Regards
John.

Hi Ian, bought on ebay several months back, this only came to light because I changed the strings for extra lights and had slight rattle on low E.
Thats when I decided to tweak the trussrod. So can't really go back after this amount of time and compain about it.
They would only say that I did it. So thats why I will try myself. Thanks for your imput will let you know how I get on.
Regards.
John.

Hi folks, just bought a Tanglwood guitar and found that the trussrod nut has been rounded off,
can I just take off the nut and replace with a new one,or is it more complicated than that?

reply to jcellini.
Now removed all the finish from the top of the guitar, and all is well.
It is quite a difficult job to do! I had to cut it back with differrent grades of sandpaper as suggested by Roger Guppy,
and finish with bees wax. I am very happy with the end product.
The guitar is a Blueridge BR-OS which I bought in a market for £15.00.
Will try and post some photo,s when Iknow how!
Regards.
John.

Hi, oldest cowboy in town 65 year old male, been playing on and off for 25 years.Still learning but have more time now to practice as I have just retired and hope to improve. Not very confident even at this grand old age to play in front of people, but sound quite good in private ( well I think i do! ) anyway nice to see all the different age groups with the same interest.
P.S I've had so many guitars over the years to try and improve my playing, but I now know it's not the tools you use, it's the way that you use them that counts!
Regards to all John. U.K

Answer to Butcher8844.
I have made a repair to the guitar top and find it hard to disguise,so if I remove the lacquer it will be easy to cover up and then re-lacquer!
Here's hoping.

Hi, I can remember lyrics to some songs, and chords to others, but can't put the two together,
so I have to stop if I forget lyrics or chords.
Trying to stick to three songs I know pretty well!

Hi, I've been playing on and off for 30 years, and only just reached a semi-confident stage.

Hi,anybody know about Baratone uke's?

Hi, I am tempted to have ago  at this, but like you say, I will sort out one to try first!
Cheers.

Hi, I can see that you have good cabinet maker skills, but I don't see the point of it,if this doe's improve the sound why hasn't the top guitar makers  adopted it. Not trying to be rude here but if you can play a guitar and it sounds good, why drill holes all over it?
With Respect.

Hi Folks, just to let you know, the guitar is a Blueridge BR-OS model imported by Saga instruments, and a seller had stuck their label over the original, which I have now removed! underneath was a Blueridge label, all in all this is a first class guitar which was a real find. The S in the model number means a solid top! they sold for around $200 in they 80's.
Cheers to all John.

Why, when you click on anything to do with Beatles songs it doe's not load?

Hi Craig, make sure the neck is straight, then measure the distance at the 12th fret, should be about 3/16ths, if it isn't slacken the strings and remove the saddle, take off about 1 or 2 mm by rubbing against sandpaper on a flat surface. Only remove small amounts at any one time other wise you endup with rattles and buzzes. If you have not done anything like this before leave to some who has! all the best John. P.S you can always sell a good guitar, but you can't sell a bad one!
