That's why I like Zurf. He does his own thing, AND he hates the B chord just like me.

Yeah I didn't even start to think of playing barre chords until I had been playing for at least a year. Now I am starting to use them a little at a time. Hotel California is the one that I use for practice, but I am always on the lookout for more songs that use them. All I can say is practice and then practice some more. You'll eventually get better.

Good luck!

To reiterate what everyone else has said; welcome. We are glad you are here. Like mekids, I have only been playing or a few months but I try to practice everyday although I tend to "try" to jam and sometimes I think I sound better than I really do. Basically I am driving my family crazy with my my practicing, but I figure they will get over it. Keep up your practicing and don't give up.

I  understand what you mean. I started out playing the dulcimer a long time ago, and I just recently started guitar. I love playing both and I have found that learning one helps me to get better on the other.

That was fun. Great vid. Iwish I could get up the nerve to post a few.

I am the same way. I tend to use the same strmming pattern over ad over, until I learn a song, and then I begin to branch out to using different patterns.

Just keep at it. I have also just started, and I have just gotten to the point where the callouses have started to form on my finger tips. Now that my fingers don't hurt as much, playing is actually fun. All ya gotta do is keep it up.

Have fun.
