Party On The Bayou
I was honoured that Phill ask me to help write this song by contributing some lyrics. I love the Cajun sound on this one. It also tells a good story about booze and an angry Granny with her grandson following in his layabout no respect for woman, father's footsteps. Guns and alcohol and nightly moonshine and music session's down on the bayou. I'm not sure if the boy has survived this episode?

Jim this one pulls at the heart strings you sure do know how to put together a song that tells a sad story well. The other Jim from Nashville vocal and backing perfect. Like your video also.

Phill excellent humour and clever writing. With magic lines such as Eight strapping firemen stood like a fence.

That is a good solo performance . As Arlo Gutherie said that has to be one of America's great songs known all over the world made famous by Elvis.     A beautiful tribute to your daughter.

Thank you Jim
The worm and the apple  in the video are now  over 60 years old. Maree got that  given to her as a school girl as part of  a bank promotion  trying to encourage kids to save. I am thankful that Phill took the time to help make this song with his exception voice, music and lyric writing talent.

This is Phill Williams using his magic voice and incredible musical talent on this song that we wrote together. I would love to get some feedback on this song.    To all my American friends I wish you all a happy Thanksgiving Day.

Sophistication

[Gm] I don’t think Ill ever be considered...[Bb] sophisticated.

[F] Somehow that seems to me to [D7] be somehow [Gm] overrated

Simplicity can make you happy.

[Bb] Doesn’t mean you don’t know nothing.

[F] In fact, you know [D7] more about something. Than [Gm] I do

[Eb] Oh yeah you think your [F] so sophisticated. [Gm]

[Eb] You only eat the [F] best things.... that are [D7] overrated.

[Gm] There is pain involved in snobbery...[Bb] sophistication.

[F] Yeah your home in your concrete [D7] jungle.

With all your [Gm] fancy things.

Some of the best things in life are free.

[Bb] Oh you can't buy the things in nature.

[F] Things that are brought on [D7] by the sun.

[Gm] The colour of winter and the seasons.

[Eb] Oh yeah you think your [F] so sophisticated. [Gm]

[Eb] You only eat the [F] best things.... that are [D7] overrated.

And they'll kill you given time.

[Gm] You live your life in a fantacy...[Bb] sophistication.

[F] I tell you some of the [D7] best things in life are [Gm] free.

[Gm] Inside a rough exterior....[Bb] can beat a loving heart.

[F] There is a lot going [D7] on that you don’t [Gm] see.

[Eb] Oh yeah you think your [F] so... sophisticated. [Gm]

[Eb] You only eat the [F] best things.... that are [D7] overrated.

[D7] Believe me when I say to you.

[Gm] All the best things in life are free.

[Bb] Milk and honey and the olive trees.

[F] Birds and bees and the [D7] song of nature's all we need.

Phill and I wrote this song and Robert Hall did the backing and sound engineering. Phill did the vocals.
This is the first take so Robert at a later date wants to make some slight adjustments to the backing.  So the recording is not quiet up to what we want it to be . Phills vocals are brilliant on here  Robert just wants to change the backing sound a bit .
