Topic: "Feed Me"

Here is a dark little song about people who are seemingly consumed by negative energy.  Hope you don't have to work or live with somebody who lives in darkness . . .

Feed MeJames McCormick, April 4, 2007

In 6/8 time, A dark waltz

I'm the [C]glitch in the system, I'm the [Em]fly in your soup

I'm a [F]pothole inside of a [G]rut

I'm a [C]tick in your shorts, a [Em]pebble in your boot

I'm a [F]disease deep [G]down in your [C]gut

. . .

I [Am]know you quite well, we're [Em]old friends indeed

On [Am]you I can always re-[Em]ly

I [Am]feed on frustration, [Em]anger, and fear

[F]Hate keeps me [G]big and a-[C]live

[F]Feed me with terror, [C]feed me with hate

[F]Feed me with vicious [G]greed

[C]Feed me with bile, [G]feed me with rage

I'm [F]all that [G]you really [C]need

Your [C]anger inside keeps [Em]nourishing me

I'll grow [F]sassy and fatter each [G]day

I'll [C]gnaw at your guts 'til e-[Em]ventually

I'll [F]eat all your [G]goodness a-[C]way

. . .

[Am]Laughter and dancing are [Em]my enemies

[Am]Frolic decreases my [Em]power

Stay [Am]hard, stay mad, stay [Em]bitter and cold

I'll de-[F]vour your [G]sweet with my [C]sour

[F]Feed me with ignorance, [C]feed me with war

[F]Feed me with lust for re-[G]venge

[C]Feed me with poverty, [G]feed me with gore

I'll [F]be your [G]ugly best [C]friend

Re: "Feed Me"

That's a pretty good song! I played it and sang it in a happy tone and came out pretty funny. Then I played it somber and dark, sounded good too. Keep up the good work!

Re: "Feed Me"

Re: "Feed Me"

Thank you for the positive feedback, gentlemen.  It is wonderful to see so many original songs being posted to the Songwriting Forum.

Since this song is so 'off-beat' in nature, I thought it would not get any response at all.  Hope to have a few quiet moments this weekend to record this song and some other's I have written recently.
