Topic: Favorite Lyrics

Spent the last two days fishing (no real trophy fish to brag about) but it was a great trip. Yesterday morning, I put a Joni Mitchell CD in the player as we were driving from place to place, and this verse of "Chelsea Morning" really stayed with me all day:

"Woke up it was a Chelsea morning and the first thing that I knew,
There was milk and toast and honey, and a bowl of oranges too,
And the light poured in like butterscotch and stuck to all my senses,
Oh, won't you stay? We'll put on the day, and we'll talk in present tenses."

I'd love to hear about some favorite lines or verses from the rest of you!

Another line I've always liked is a bit autobiographical from Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull) who is a terrific poet / lyricist:

"A singer for these ageless times, with kitchen prose and gutter rhymes."
