Position indicator?

Hi, An old fella and quite rusty on guitar but used to using tabs. Teaching a younger person who is using an app which uses a line to indicate where we are up to in the song and to change cords. Due to his slower chord changes and needing to look at his guitar he loses where we are up to on the song in Chordie. Is there a way to indicate where we are up to on the song, eg follow the dots sort of thing? thanks
