Topic: Place In The Pack

This is a sort of blues I'm working on. As usual I break all the lyric rules. I'm not very good with chords I was thinking of playing this with three chords. Opening  lyric with a D7 and finishing lyric  line with a D7. Maybe play the rest in a 4 /4 timing with a C7 and a G7.

Place In The Pack

I don’t need to be one of the sheep.

No I don’t.

I just need to be who God made me to be.

It is quiet simple I just keep things simple.

I don’t want to be any famous leader of the pack.

I’m quiet happy to be one of the cards in the stack.

My place is just as important as a Ace or king or a Queen.

I’m quiet happy to be a card in the pack.

I am happy to be just little old me.

I don’t want to be someone else’s image of me.

I don’t listen to their stupid voices trying to change me.

I’m just what you see.

Not too flash but hopefully humble as can be.

I’m a little bit rough round the edges that makes me comfortable.

I just want to be another card in the pack.

I don’t need to be the Ace or the King or the Queen.

Ill follow my dreams.

Ill keep things simple on the scene.

I don’t need to be someone else’s version of me.

Ill just stay the way I was made to be.

it is a simple fact I got with the good man above.

Re: Place In The Pack

I think you've described yourself to the tee! Some are born great, others have greatness thrust upon them. You come into the first category, a natural leader yet too humble to expect the rank and file to follow you. Keep doing what you're doing with these word pictures.

Ask not what Chordie can do for you, but what you can do for Chordie.

Thank you Phill for your Kind words. I appreciate your feedback and the way you have mentored me in music. I will attach me having a go at my song above just recorded on my cell phone.

Re: Place In The Pack

first line threw me off for the rest of the song but figured out where it was going soon enough.  catchy line just another card in the pack

out of tune out of key and out of touch

Re: Place In The Pack

Cheers Mojo,  I tend to cast my net wide when writing  which sometimes looks like I'm going of subject. I'm  pleased it made some sort of sense or came together in the end.

I cast my net wide.

Caught many a girl.

You got to watch it when out in a heavy swell.

A small part of the catch can be heaven the rest can be hell.
