Topic: re-write of a song

I re wrote this song using small changes in lyrics ( and the Title)  and a re-arrangement of chords.

probably a country  folk style song... but I like it much better like this

one of these days after I play a few more times I will record and post it.

Her Voice by Jim Kenyon

Verse 1

.

[G]I went down to the river, I was feeling kinda down

I [D7] couldn’t find no friends, there was, no one was around

I [G] tried to think of something happy, but [C]nothing came to mind

Then [G] I thought I heard her voice, [D]coming from be[G]hind

.

Saying  remember

[G]sunshine will greet you [C]every single[D] day, so

keep [G] a song in your heart to [Am]keep troubles a[D]way

[G]know that through love, you can [C]do anything you try

So [G] take a leap of faith, don’t let[D] life pass you[G] by

[G] take a leap of faith, don’t let[D] life pass you[G] by

.

Verse 2

.

[G]That voice always was, my favorite sound to hear

It [D7] sounded like an angel, whispering in my ear

when [G] I turned to see her ya’ [C] know she wasn’t there

So I [G] closed my eyes and saw her, with[D] flowers in her[G] hair

.

Chorus

.

she was singing

[G] sunshine will greet you [C]every single[D] day, so

keep [G] a song in your heart to [Am]keep troubles a[D]way

[G]know that through love, you can [C] do anything you try

So [G] take a leap of faith, don’t let[D] life pass you[G] by

[G] take a leap of faith, don’t let[D] life pass you[G] by

.

Verse 3

.

[G] close to bein’ broke, but thought I was just bein' free

always [D7] hoping things could be the way they used to be

I was [G] torn by a broken heart, a [C] pain that makes you cry

Then I [G] heard her voice saying, give [D] love another [G] try

.

chorus

.

i heard her say

[G] sunshine will greet you [C]every single[D] day, so

keep [G] a song in your heart to [Am]keep troubles a[D]way

[G]know that through love, you can [C]do anything you try

So [G] take a leap of faith, don’t let[D] life pass you[G] by

[G] take a leap of faith, don’t let[D] life pass you[G] by

.

Verse 4

.

[G]So I went to her house and I knocked on her door

Had a[D7] handful of flowers I bought at the store

When that [G]door opened up, I [C]saw a smile on her face

And that [G]voice told my heart it was [D]in the right [G]place

.

and she sang

.

[G]sunshine will greet you [C]every single[D] day, so

keep [G] a song in your heart to [Am]keep troubles a[D]way

[G]know that through love, you can [C] do anything you try

So [G] take a leap of faith, don’t let[D] life pass you[G] by

[G] take a leap of faith, don’t let[D] life pass you[G] by

.

So [G] take a leap of faith, don’t let[D] life pass you[G] by

[G] take a leap of faith, don’t let[D] life pass you[G] by

Your vision is not limited by what your eye can see, but what your mind can imagine.
Make your life count, and the world will be a better place because you tried.
