Topic: Blues song - LAST MILE
at first I wrote this as a non blues song and it just wouldn't go where I wanted ti to. The blues format seems to work much better and is more suited to the lyrics I think. Let me know what you think.

Last mile By Jim Kenyon
Verse 1
.
[Em]Shadows stretching all across our past,
[Em]ya know some things never [E7] last.
[Am]feels like this might be the last dance,
[Em] one last chance to save romance
[B7] One more night, give it one more try,
[Am]last tears our aching hearts will [Em] cry.
Verse 2
.
[Em]Truth n’ lies walking side by side.
[Em]Love don’t live where [E7]secrets hide.
[Am]Our love was loud, then came the hush
[Em]the silence is so heavy,it’s breaking us
[B7]Wonder if love is ever worth the pain
[Am] hope this last mile, ain't walked in [Em]vain.
.
Chorus
.
[Am]hoping that somehow we can make it right
[Em] praying for a miracle tonight
[Am] One more look at what might be lost
[Em] One more line that we shouldn't cross.
[B7] one last kiss, maybe one more smile
[Am] no turning back, walking that last [Em]mile
,
Verse 3
[Em]We’re dancing close to the edge again
[Em]Still pretending we ain’t [E7]near the end
[Am] promises I broke are still in your eyes
[Em]the truth cuts through all your alibis
[B7]But we both know that wrong never felt so right.
[Am]so we're dancing in flames one more [Em] night
Chorus
.
[Am]hoping that somehow we can make it right
[Em]yeah, holding out for a miracle tonight
[Am] One more look at what might be lost
[Em] One more line that we shouldn't cross.
[B7] one last kiss, maybe one more smile
[Am] no turning back, walking that last [Em]mile
[B7]no, there ain't no turning back, as we
SLOW
[Am]wa-aa-aa-lk that last [Em] mile
The price of anything, is the amount of life you exchange for it. - H.D. Thoreau
Your vision is not limited by what your eye can see, but what your mind can imagine.
Make your life count, and the world will be a better place because you tried.
"Use the talents you possess, for the woods would be very silent if no birds sang except only the the best." - Henry Van Dyke
