Topic: Chesney recording/story

https://soundcloud.com/rough-as-gut/chesney
I was really interested to see replies to my chesney post
Phill and Peatle joining the story and taking it somewhere else
and Jim adding his bit tying i all together.
i wrote it after hearing an interview with chesney who had a bit hit record
in his late teens and was washed up at 23.because of his love for music
he did bits and pieces to make a living.always playing music though.
he played in working bands for years and built up a small following
which turned into a modest living.looking back he said hes enjoying music more than
ever.

Re: Chesney recording/story

I like how this thread turned into a collaborative story, that kind of back-and-forth usually pulls the best details out of a song idea. For anyone working on story-songs like this, grounding the narrative in one specific image or moment makes it stick much better than a general biography. Chesney enjoying music more now than at his peak is a great closing line, it flips the usual fame story on its head.
