Topic: Music please

Could someone put music to this bit of a poem that I've written?

PASSING MOMENTS

Passing moments soon be gone
Though memory will linger on
Count the kisses, cherish the hugs
Does memory last longer than love?
Ever needing, ever growing
Ever feeding on my love.

Twilight romance in winter crisp
Bodies warming, lips to lips
In the playground constellations above
Counting stars, with one sided love
she is ever taking, stealing youth
Stole my heart, she broke it too
Live without her, seems I can...
She'll be sorry, when I'm a man.

Ask not what Chordie can do for you, but what you can do for Chordie.

Re: Music please

Hi Phil,
What lovely lyrics; a tune?
What were you thinking/focusing on when you wrote this?
There is a touch of wistfulness and regret? in what you've written.
I would suggest a theme around a minor key to begin; finish with major chords in the last verse.
This will focus on your descision; She'll be sorry, when I'm a man.
I may have a play around with this, see what I can come up with.
Regards & cheers
Kiwi John

Hi Phill,

How about something like this?

Chordpro error: This is not a valid artistname. You will have to specify an artistname in the form {st: Artistname} in the beginning of the code.

Roger

"Do, or do not; there is no try"

Re: Music please

Oh by the way, went on to "My Space" to hear your Valentine song, very nice...you like your moody stuff, dont you?

Re: Music please

Thanks for the visit Phill,

I admit it, the moody, the romantic and the sad songs I like best of all, but I am a happy chappie really.

Re: Music please

Phil Williams,

Thats a lovely wee tune. I love this line particularly.

Counting [B7]stars, with one sided [Em]love

It is so much nicer to do this with a loved one.

Thank You.

Re: Music please

Phill - Nice lyrics, sad though, because memory does last longer than unrequieted love.

awesome arrangement, Roger. Really conveys the feeling, and even I can play it! smile

this Chordie thing is too cool. I'm gonna order a coffee cup!

Just play

Re: Music please

Phil,
I like your poem a lot!
The thing is, though, that song lyrics are different from poetry.
Maybe you can re-write it as a lyric after finding out how.
I. myself, am not a very good lyricist, but perhaps someonbe else here is.
I am a tunesmith, and often look for lyrics to write music to/for.

sBeckser!

Em Hello!

carried this incredible poem around in my purse for months, while trying to contact Dr. Maya Angelou to get her permission to put it to music. One day she showed up -- serendipitously - at a taping of the Dini Petty show that I was also on. When I told her I wanted to set the poem to music, she said she had always wanted it to be a song, and gave me permission on the spot. Not only was I thrilled to be able to sing out her inspiring words of self- affirmation night after night, I learned a very valuable lesson about intention. I passionately believed the poem should be a song, and the universe heard me and responded. I encourage anyone who has a dream, no matter how out of reach it seems, to keep it in your purse - keep it close to your heart. Travellers who undertake a journey for the right reasons, are always helped by invisible hands.

I could have put a million on here for your perusal. My personal feeling is every song is  poetry!
At the risk of sounding sarcastic to you!   Just where have you got your Idea from? Or am i being totally stupid here in missing your point?
God love ya! Your gonna be an out of work tunesmith if you keep passing this
Kind of writing by.
Phil along with many others here have written pieces like this one . They have ended up being lovely songs.

You May like to return here to explain please?.

Thanking You,
