Topic: England a old/new song

Hi,
I originally posted this song sometime last year.
I have revamped the song musically keeping  most of the original lyrics.
The song is for my Father who passed away sometime ago he was a true patriot and loved England.
I have made an attempt at singing on this one not one of my great strengths.
Anyway it can be listen to on Myspace page http://www.myspace.com/onlyarkady
Thanks

Regards to all

Ark

Re: England a old/new song

Hi Arkady,

Got to say it's a beautiful haunting melody, being Welsh I can admire the sentiment, and some of the nicest people I've ever met have been English, but I'm Welsh....so... I really love the fact that you've written a song for your dad, my dad died while I was learning the words to Elton Johns "My Song", it still makes me weepy, and that can be a bit awkward when your singing to a house full of  paying customers, not for a woman, but it is for a man.

Lovely guitar work, and your voice suits this song down to the ground.

Keep on keeping on

Phill

Ask not what Chordie can do for you, but what you can do for Chordie.

Hi Arkady,

Gave your song a listen to again. Its so good. Dont be fretting about your voice,

I feel it suits this piece. You have a soothing sound with your singing.

Your Dad would be so proud.

Thanks for your kind comment.
I like playing Elton Johns "My Song" on the guitar. It's a great song with a lovely melody I can well understand you getting upset at what the memories the song brings back to you.

daddycool.
Your comments are alway appreciated
Thanks

Re: England a old/new song

Hey Ark,

It is about time we heard your singing and I hope we we will hear more in the future.

A beautiful haunting song and a wonderful tribute to your Father. I never wrote one when I lost my Dad but I did learn "Tears in Heaven" and took a lot of comfort from it.

Thanks. I have always felt self conscious when singing.
I'm not sure what Dad would have made of it.:)
"Tears in Heaven" is a great but sad number. I play it myself there's just something about the song.
