Topic: guitar feedback

just a quickie question - when my guitar is at a volume above 1 on my amp it gets terrible feedback when i'm not dampening the strings but it only seems to be coming from the A string. Anyone have any idea's how I can best go about eliminating it?

Re: guitar feedback

Well if you pull the plug out the amp lol

Are you sitting next to the amp? facing the amp?

Maybe a longer lead ( if you are using a short one) and face away from thre amp might help?

ken

ye get some that are cut out for the job and others just get by from pretending

Re: guitar feedback

Brian Setzer's advice about feedback is to get a longer lead.

I find that if I get my amp up off the floor, and keep my body between the amp and the guitar, I have no problems.  I play a hollowbody Gretsch, but I also don't play at high volume.
