Topic: Martin D15M

Got myself a new guitar this weekend while we were in Arroyo Grande, Calif. right near Pismo Beach. I found Lightening Joe's Guitars. What a wonderful old place. Hundreds of guitars of all vintages.
I knew what I wanted and he had it in stock and had already set it up. This D-15m is a beauty.
not because of a lot of fancy trim but because it is just plain dark mahogany and it looks like an old 1940 style guitar. A real keeper and the sound is awesome and it plays beautifully.

Re: Martin D15M

Congrats on the new guitar! The ones I've seen (Martin mahagany models) had that beautiful warm, but resonant tone that is so good for rythym and slide work instead of that bright bluesgrassy sound that Martin is usually noted for! I love the looks of those dark models too!

I haven't quite figured out how to put a picture in with my message. I'd be glad to do it if I knew how. Can someone guide me thru it.
Thanks, Flybye

Re: Martin D15M

Martin D15 is a very nice guitar.  I'm happy for you.  There is a thread here somewhere that explains how to post pics.  Go to forum at top and then About Chordie, and there is a thread on how to do pics.

Ok, it's been a month and still no pics?  LOL!  I've had my eye on a Martin and will continue to keep my eye on it until I can muster up the cash for it.  Would love to drool a bit over yours when you get the pic up here.  smile

Re: Martin D15M

Congrats Flybye...  I love my Martin too..   HD28.  Play it daily.

Re: Martin D15M

Hi, had the same problem with attaching photo's! what I did was use Picasa Web Album where you can store and share images on the web.
You can then find the link for these images copy and paste that link direct into the post box that you are writing in on Chordie.
Hope that's not to complicated,( If I did it anyone can. )
Cheers,
John.
P.S. would like to see the guitar myself!

Re: Martin D15M

there's a "how to" here for pictures:  http://www.chordie.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=14150

He's probably tooooo busy enjoying the guitar though to bother with pictures wink

I looked it up on Google. It's a beautiful guitar.

Re: Martin D15M

Thanks, that picture really doesn't do it justice. I don't have a google account so I guess that's the next new thing this old guy will have to learn how to do. wow! This new high tech stuff might seem easy for some of you, but I feel like I've been sucked thru a knothole just posting a thread. Bear with me, I'll try to catch up.
