Topic: End of the day

It's rare for me to sing (The term is used loosely) but I have had a go..
Just a simple song about life.

[D]In the garden of his[A]life
[G]Sits a man on a[A]stone
[D]He's surrounded by[A]flowers
[G]But sometimes feels all[A]alone

[D]His flowers are[A]tall
[G]But the weeds still grow[A]to
[D]He keeps them[A]down
[G]But some still grow right[A]through

[G]Now this is the[A] garden of his [D] life
[G]Filled with [A] darkness and [D] sunlight
[G]There is some [A] colour there is [D] grey
[D]But it [G] is what it [A] is at the end of the[D] day
[D]But it [G] is what it [A] is at the end of the[D] day

[D]He's tried his [A] best
[G]To garden with [A] care
[D]But some of his [A] loses
[G]Have been hard to [A] bear

[D]He raises his [A] hand
[G]To shield his eyes from the [A] sun
[D]But does not see [A]
[G]His life is almost [A] run

[G]Now this is the[A] garden of his [D] life
[G]Filled with [A] darkness and [D] sunlight
[G]There is some [A] colour there is [D] grey
[D]But it [G] is what it [A] is at the end of the[D] day
[D]But it [G] is what it [A] is at the end of the[D] day

Re: End of the day

Well done arkady. It struck home for me as I'm a flower gardener and I often use those same words to describe my own life.

Live in the "now" - a contentment of the moment - the past is gone - the future doesn't exist - all we ever really have is now and it's always "now".

Re: End of the day

love it and you  have  a  great  voice

Re: End of the day

you wrote this about me didn't you?

i have a lawn but it's full of weeds, moles and slugs. i love to mow it when the rain keeps off for a couple of days ( not many times this summer...but hey-ho)

the words are cleverly written and your singing is just right. go to the top of the class.

Ask not what Chordie can do for you, but what you can do for Chordie.

Re: End of the day

You're singing!  I think in all the years I've been around this place, it's the first time I've heard a recording from you with vocals!  LOVELY! Your voice is as calm and relaxing as your music always is.  smile  Thank you so much for sharing this with us all!

Thanks Jeff and Dino for the thumbs up on the song..

Re: End of the day

This is quite a different avenue for you, Arkady ... and quite good. I really like your ambient material, and listen to it often.

Re: End of the day

Thanks for positive comment TF.
And the thumbs up for the ambient stuff as well..

Re: End of the day

Had a listen Ark I don't know if it's me but the keys, guitar drown out the vocal which has to much reverb hard to understand your nice lyrics. If it were me I would use this as an intro and bring in the bass and drums at the end or earlier at some point that said it is a fine piece of writing keep singing russ smile
