From Wikipedia:   Wish You Were Here is the ninth studio album by the English rock band Pink Floyd, released on 12 September 1975 by Harvest Records in the United Kingdom and a day later by Columbia Records in the United States. Inspired by material the group composed while performing around Europe, Wish You Were Here was recorded during numerous recording sessions at Abbey Road Studios in London, England.
Wish You Were Here was an instant commercial success (despite the fact that Harvest Records' parent company EMI was unable to print enough copies of the album to satisfy commercial demand), and although it initially received mixed reviews, the album has since gone on to receive critical acclaim. It appears on Rolling Stone's lists of "The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time" and the "50 Greatest Prog Rock Albums of All Time". Band members Richard Wright and David Gilmour have cited Wish You Were Here as their favourite Pink Floyd album, and many critics and fans have considered the album to be the band's magnum opus.

Here is a YouTube link and example of Milli Vanilli:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RdSmokR0Enk

From Wikipedia:  Milli Vanilli was a German R&B duo from Munich. The group was founded by Frank Farian in 1988 and consisted of Fab Morvan and Rob Pilatus. The group's debut album Girl You Know It's True achieved international success and earned them a Grammy Award for Best New Artist on 21 February 1990.[1] Milli Vanilli became one of the most popular pop acts in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Their success quickly turned to infamy when Morvan, Pilatus and their agent Sergio Vendero confessed that Morvan and Pilatus did not sing any of the vocals heard on the record. The pair decided to return the Grammy awards and asked they be given to the real vocalists.[2][3][4] The group recorded a comeback album in 1998, but Rob Pilatus died before the album was released.[5]

Re: MARCH 2017 FSOTM - WISH YOU WERE HERE - MILLI VANILLI

I do believe that Jan  might have misinterpreted our joking around about MV  as I do not think anyone in here will be doing anything by them.

I think Ill be getting my son to play  on "Wish you were here" with me as he can do all the little lead  tidbits.  He played it  in Feb on our skype for everyone.  He just wont sing LOL.

Re: MARCH 2017 FSOTM - WISH YOU WERE HERE - MILLI VANILLI

I think I may do a version of a combination of Mojo's idea and BGD's :   I will lip synch  Willie Nelson, and usde a fake back track from MV

I will call it - Millie Willie Vannilli  smile

Aside from four glorious days at CSV, it has been a challenging month.

Re: MARCH 2017 FSOTM - WISH YOU WERE HERE - MILLI VANILLI

Here's my try at Blame it on the Rain. I am sick and losing my voice, don't know if I'm going to be able to do the Floyd tune before my throat heals. But I'm darn sure going to try.

As others have noted, the song is viewed by many as less than spectacular, so I re-wrote it. Hope you enjoy.

That was awesome BDG, a great cover by you but then I kinda expected it to be good from you smile  Your voice sounded great, nothing wrong with it, you didn't sound sick at all.

Ok ....  March has come to an end but remember you can actually still do a song from any of the PREVIOUS months if you want to smile

That was pretty darn good BGD!  I don't think very many of the songs that were put under their name would be easy to do acoustic, and I sure wouldn't be able to pull that off!  Very good job!  Jim and I were both impressed!

It brought back memories for sure!  One of the kids was in the room, so when it was over I pulled up a video of the original.  I told her, as it was playing, this is what they sounded like when I heard them.  In fact, this is EXACTLY what they sounded like - note for note, word for word, IN concert!  I'd told the terrible story several times in the past, so we all had a good laugh over that.
