Topic: Thunderstorms (beneath her sky of blue)

I hope this works out musically - if anyone has suggestions in that regard I would appreciate it.  smile

Thunderstorms (beneath her sky of blue) By Jim Kenyon

Verse 1

[G] oh, her skin was soft and she [C]had the bluest[G] eyes

[G] with a sweet,sweet, smile that com[C]pleted her dis[G]guise

[G]"I'm fine", she’d whisper, to [C]hide the pain she’s [G]known,

as she [D]tried to deal with her [C] demons all a[G]lone.

.

Verse 2

[G]A voice soft as the breeze, when she[C] sang her favorite [G]song

[G]Her heart cloaked away any [C] hint of something [G]wrong

[G]”It’s okay", she’d say, as she [C] lived her masquer[G]ade

while she [D]drifted through her troubled [C] life, in her cryptic [G]way

.

Chorus

[C] I thought I knew her ways, yea, I thought I knew her [G] well

but she [C] found ways to hide the hell she was going [G] through

behind her [C] hidden walls, I never saw her crumbling [G] shell

Seems there’s [D] thunderstorms be[C]neath her sky of [G]blue

[D] thunderstorms be[C]neath her sky of [G]blue

.

Verse 3

[G]she had everything you'd want, but it [C] wasn’t as it [G]seems

[G]there was an untold burden hidden [C] in all her [G]dreams

[G]“ I’m alright” she’d say, as she [C] tried to hide her [G]fears

while she [D] pretends to smile, as she [C]wipes away her [G]tears

.

Chorus

[C] I thought I knew her ways , yea, I thought I knew her [G] well

but she [C] found ways to hide the hell she was going [G] through

behind her [C] hidden walls, I never saw her crumbling [G] shell

Seems there’s [D] thunderstorms be[C]neath her sky of [G]blue

.

yea, there’s [D]thunderstorms be[C]neath her sky of [G]blue

yea, there’s [D]thunderstorms be[C]neath her sky of [G]blue

[D]thunderstorms be[C]neath her sky of [G]blue

THAT! THAT RIGHT THERE !

You have a beautiful song  on this one!  Im at work but will be playing this once home. There are so many this can relate to.  It is also the less explisit type of song as my MOTHER  A PUNKS BALLAD,   Yet its the exact same topic.  The hidden pain we all hide from time to time.  - Bravo!

I agree with Beamer a touching ballad

Ask not what Chordie can do for you, but what you can do for Chordie.

Re: Thunderstorms (beneath her sky of blue)

Jim brilliant lyrics . Your words made me think of how we see the outside and don't always see the pain of a person inside that  Marilyn Monroe thing
beauty on the outside hiding the demons inside.

Re: Thunderstorms (beneath her sky of blue)

Beamer, Phill, and Peatle

Thank you.

Now I just have to figure out how to play it so it sounds decent.  smile

Re: Thunderstorms (beneath her sky of blue)

OK

I had more time this morning and made some changes as you will see. Re did some lyrics, changed chords, and re wrote title.

To me it plays much better and fits better.

(Phill- If you ever get a chance to give this a go I'd love to hear it. )
(Beamer- did you ever give it a go ?)
