Topic: and there she was

I got up this morning thinking about my wife - so I wrote this

And There She Was by Jim Kenyon

[G]I’d never had too much luck with love

didn’t really believe in destiny or [D]fate

I was [G]just hoping for a little [C]happiness

and [G]wonderin’ how long it was [D]I’d have to [G]wait

.

[G]it was a summer’s day when I first met her

and I knew she was special from the [D]start

yeah her [G]smile, her eyes, the way she[C] made me laugh

those [G]little things that [D] sometimes will steal your [G]heart

.

Chorus

Oh [C]I wanted someone that could love me as I [G]am

Some[C]one who knows the best thing in life is [G] “us”

I [C]needed someone I knew I could always [G]count on

and one [D] day I turned a[C]round and there she [G]was

one [D] day I turned a[C]round and there she [G]was

.

[G]Can’t remember the first words that we spoke

but I'll always remember how she made me [D]feel

didn’t [G]know then that she would [C] mean so much to me

ya' know [G] sometimes it’s hard to be[D]lieve she’s even [G]real

.

[G]tomorrow when I wake up, i suppose she could be gone

just as seasons change and bring us something [D]new

but my [G]heart tells me we’ll always be[C] together

‘cause there ain't nothing [G] can change a [D] love that’s [G] true

.

Chorus

Oh [C]I wanted someone that could love me as I [G]am

Some[C]one who knows the best thing in life is [G] “us”

I [C]needed someone I knew I could always [G]count on

and one [D] day I turned a[C]round and there she [G]was

one [D] day I turned a[C]round and there she [G]was

.

yea, one [D] day I turned a[C]round and there she [G]was

Re: and there she was

That is a wonderful song Jim. The lyrics perfectly describe what its like to meet and continue a relationship with that "special" someone.  Hope you plan to record it and let us listen.

I want to read my own water, choose my own path, write my own songs

Re: and there she was

a song from the heart Jim. mushy but nice. all i get lately are break-up songs, my insecurity i expect although me and Ann are rock solid, as you and your lovely lady are. hope you had a great day yesterday?

Ask not what Chordie can do for you, but what you can do for Chordie.

Re: and there she was

Jim I wish I could write lyrics as good as that to my Maree. I love that verse below as it sort tells my story a bit with Maree.
It was a summer’s day when I first met her
and I knew she was special from the start
yeah her smile, her eyes, the way she made me laugh
those little things that sometimes will steal your heart

Re: and there she was

Ken, Phill, and Peatle

Thanks for giving it a look.
I'm not positive those are going to be the chords for it.
I'm still playing around with it.

yeah Phill - it may be a bit on the mush side..... but it was Christmas so I guess I was a bit emotional. smile
Peatle - just bring it from the heart - you will write a beauty I am sure.
Thanks again Gents  for giving it a look - I appreciate all comments.
