Topic: 10,000 songs

This is a song I written earlier, but made a bunch of changes in the lyrics and chords, as well as the title of the song.
Comments (helpful improvements) appreciated !

10,000 songs By Jim Kenyon

[G]Well it’s six in the morning and I [F]can’t get you off my [G]mind

[G]I keep on wondering why I [F]ever left you be[D]hind

[C] everybody’s [D]telling me that [Bm] I must be in[Em]sane

they’re[C] right because my [D] heart is drenched with [G]pain

.

[G] Every song I hear, every [F]picture reminds me of [G]you

[G]If I can’t get you back, I [F] don’t know what I’ll ever[D] do

[C] I can’t get my [D]head around, not [Bm]holding you every [Em]night

So I[C] lay awake and I[D] pray we can get this [G] right

.

Chorus

Can you [C] please forgive me, [D] I never meant to [G]do you any [C]wrong

And know my heart’s been [D] aching ever[G] since you’ve been [C]gone

And there’s no doubt in my[D]mind that with you [G] is where I be[C]long

So let me hold you [D] once again, and dance the [C] next 10,000 [G] songs

.

[G]Straight from my heart is [F]where I’m coming [G] from

[G] I know who we are and [F] what we can be [D]come

[C] I’m hoping for a [D] miracle or a [Bm] blessing from a[Em]bove

‘cause I [C] know you’re the only [D]girl I’ll ever [G]love

.

So let me hold you [D] once again, and dance the [C] next 10,000 [G] songs

So let me hold you [D] once again, and dance the [C] next 10,000 [G] songs

Yeah, let me hold you [D] once again, and dance the [C] next 10,000 [G] songs

Re: 10,000 songs

Hey Jim - I like it, especially the use of the G to F in the verses.

Re: 10,000 songs

Hi Jim.
This is another great song from you. I ran through it last night and was about to commit it to tape but I have a bad bout of flu which makes me cough and my throat is very sore, so I've put it off for another day, if that's alright?

Ask not what Chordie can do for you, but what you can do for Chordie.

Jeff and Phill

Thanks for your kind words regarding this song.

Using the F was kind of new for me, but I liked it. I also liked using the Bm as well.

It's a little different than my usual GCD repertoire.   smile  sad

Phill
I sure hope it isn't too serious. I wish you full and speedy recovery.  Anytime you get the chance to give it a go would be great.
I would love that.

Thanks again guys
