Re: MARCH 2022 FSOTM – WELCOME BACK, HELLO, GREETINGS

Ok, my very sad attempt at this months song is up.  I changed lyrics in the song to say Hello Chordie, from Louis Armstrongs Hello Dolly.  Louis lovely version of Hello Dolly is of course jazz but honestly I am so rusty playing any instrument after 3 years of hardly playing anything, its like starting all over again and I couldnt play jazz on my uke at all, so I gave up.  I also gave up on the first song I tried ~Welcome Back~ after trying it in various chords and not able to perform it.  I also struggled to come up with an original like you clever lot have.  So in a mad rush, last minute, here it is, warts and all.

Sounded pretty good for a rush job!! If you rush every month you might make us mere mortals sound reasonable big_smile

I enjoyed both Jan's adaption of a classic and Joe's original song. Great stuff, well done both of you.

unclejoe, great to see you joining in and you did a great cover of that song.  Nice to hear your guest singer on your number too. That was the song I tried first to do and struggled to do, no matter what chords I changed it too, I just couldn't nail it but you did, so well done to you.

neophytte, thankyou, hopefully onwards and upwards for me, its been awhile since I have touched those strings or sung.

Roger, thanks so much, looking forward to getting back into it.

Ooops look like I am in error. Not ever hearing Joe's song before I thought it was an original but from Jan's comment I guess I was wrong.

Thank you. No. Not mine. It's the theme song from a 1980's TV show called Cheers. I shortened it and changed the lyrics from "him" to "her".

Thank you Jan. I struggled with it a bit too. That's why it didn't get posted until the last minute.

I'm sorry. You're right. It is Welcome Back Kotter

I'm working on "Where Everybody Knows Your Name" as well and wrote the wrong song name in the post.

Jandal your voice is sounding great and your playing and percussion were perfect.

Unclejoesband  that is a good song from you and your backing vocalist.

Peatle, thanks so much, I had fun changing the lyrics and trying to make it work for here.  I loved this old song of Louis Armstrongs smile

The two songs I love of Louis Armstrong that always make me feel happy are Hello Dolly and Wonderful World. smile
