Topic: Walking on Water Song I Wrote

A song I wrote for chordie SOTM

I think it probably needs a "just music" solo spot where the chords or something changes, but I am not that talented musically to figure that out.

I think Phill once told me to use a bridge - still haven't mastered that idea yet though smile  !
I wrote it after my wife gave me a great good morning kiss and long hug yesterday- left me feeling pretty darn good smile
Let me know if you have any ideas that would make it better

Thanks
Jim

Walking On Water by Jim Kenyon

Verse 1

[D] when you smile at me, the [C] rest of the world doesn’t [G] matter

And each [D] time you kiss me, I [C] hope it lasts a little [G] longer

Every[D]thing I think, every[C]thing we do,makes our love [G] stronger

I tell ya’ [D] you always makes me [C]feel like I can walk on [G]water

Yeah [D] you always make me [C] feel like I can walk on [G]water

.

Chorus

.

And I [D] feel like I’m [C]walking on [G]water,

‘cause of [D] all of the [C]things that you [G]do

oh I [D] feel like I’m [C]walking on [G]water,

every [D] time I’m a[C]lone with [G]you

can’t help [D] feeling like I’m [C]walking on [G]water,

oh, baby, I[D] think that [C] you feel it [G]too

.

Verse 2

[D] when I hear your voice, it [C] brings a smile to [G]my face

And each [D] time we hold hands [C] my heart begins [G]to race

There [D] ain’t nothing in this world [C]that ever can take [G] your place

just sayin' [D] you always make me [C] feel like I can walk on [G]water

Yeah [D] you always make me [C] feel like I can walk on [G]water

.

Chorus

.

And I [D] feel like I’m [C]walking on [G]water,

‘cause of [D]all of the [C]things that you [G]do

oh I [D] feel like I’m [C]walking on [G]water,

every [D] time I’m a[C]lone with [G]you

can’t help [D] feeling like I’m [C]walking on [G]water,

oh, baby, I[D] think that [C] you feel it [G]too

.

outgo- the  last line plays slow

.

yeah I [D]feel like I’ll be [C]walking on [G]water,

praying [D] it’ll be, my [C]whole life [G]through

yeah I [D]feel like I’ll be [C]walking on [G]water,

and you [D]know it’s all [C] because of [G]you

Re: Walking on Water Song I Wrote

I know and understand the feeling Jim.

Try this for your bridge:

Em This water's D deep beneath my C feet Am
Em There's only D one inch of G ice A7
Em Together D we make this C heat D
C Together G we'll pay the A price D7

Just to break the chord sequence on the last line play C G D on the verses and maybe also on the chorus?

Ask not what Chordie can do for you, but what you can do for Chordie.

Re: Walking on Water Song I Wrote

TIGLJK I commented on this already on FSOTM but nicely done.  I am always confused about the ~bridge~ thing too.
