Topic: So you can have 5 electrics...

Five standard electric guitars. Acoustics, baritones, basses, fretless guitars, 12-strings, doublenecks, etc. don't count, just five standard six string electrics to cover all your favorite sounds. Tell us why, too. Mods are allowed, just specify them vaguely. For me:

1) SG with active EMG 81/85 humbuckers, because it screams, moans and whispers so well
2) Epiphone Casino with Bigsby trem bridge, because I'd want a semihollow of some sort and I love the shimmering vibrato from the Bigsbys
3) Gibson Les Paul Studio, because it's a rite of passage for every guitarist to own a Gibson Les Paul, and there's just no substitute for the LP.
4) Fender MIA Strat, because once again there is no substitute
5) Stagg Strat copy, because guaranteed I'm gonna play somewhere that I don't wanna take the others.

Maybe some gaps, but that would do it for me for electrics, excluding bari's and fretless. What about everyone else?

Used to have an SG, wish I kept it. yes
Like a 335 for a semi hollow, but the epi is good.
LP and strat, yes, of course.
But I would add a PRS swamp ash special, 2 humbuckers with a single coil in the middle. Great versatility.

American Telecaster with two single coil pickups: My weapon of choice:
American Stratocaster with three Single coil pickups: Does it all!
Gibson Les Paul Classic: Has the hotter humbuckers: Tremendous guitar...can do it all!
Peavey Wolfgang Special: Hot humbuckers, Floyd Rose Bridge, great neck and sound: A rocker!
Mexican made Fender Strat with Seymour Duncan JBjr single coil sized Humbucker in bridge and two Carvin AP11 single coils front and middle position: This is my hotrod and working blues guitar...constantly changing and modifying it...

Re: So you can have 5 electrics...

I'm the proud owner of a '76 Strat and a '89 Les Paul. In my opinion I have 2 of the finest  electric guitars ever made.( and I treat them better than I treat myself ) So I guess I'll request 2.5 of each.............. eeeeek, what is me sayin'!!!??? Make that 3 strats and 2 les pauls, or 2 strats and 3 les pauls.

Give everything but up.

Re: So you can have 5 electrics...

candy green Clapton Stratocaster with maple fretboard, because they are awesome.

arctic white Telecaster, because I'm a Jeff Buckley fan but I don't want to be a poser by buying a honey blond version.

Taylor T5, for acoustic and electric tones.

white Les Paul studio.

and an explorer, because I'm a fan of The Edge.

Re: So you can have 5 electrics...

1) G&L ASAT Bluesboy . . . the perfect "Tele", outstanding Tone and playability, my favorite

2) MIK Special Edition Custom Tele w/set neck, humbuckers & coil tap . . . beautiful guitar, sounds from "Les Paul" to "Tele", very light weight, outstanding playability

3) MIM (95) Fat Tele w/Hummer in neck and 5 way switching . . . Fun to play and great tone

4) MIM (94) Standard Strat . . . Put a "hot rail" in the bridge . . . has lots of sounds

5) Saga "Tele" I made from a kit . . . It's the "throw in the back of the pickup in case you are somewhere and feel like a little pick'n" guitar

I guess you can tell that I really like Tele's . . .

Re: So you can have 5 electrics...

I have five electrics collected over the years:

In order of buying

Hofner Galaxy in the early sixties.  It was red and looked a bit like a Strat but with the awful switches and wheel controls.  I lost the tremolo arm though.

Fender Big Apple Strat with 2 Seymour Duncans and rosewood neck (97). Black with dark red paisley guard. Awesome||| Good range.

Gibson Les Paul Standard (93). Wine colour. Great guitar everything you expect from one. But just a bit heavy.

Tanglewood Tennessee deep acoustic. Bright red with white piping and gold pick-ups and bits. It's a rockabilly guitar. Not bad for a budget guitar but can feel a bit dead. I only bought it for its looks.

Fender Telecaster American Series (05).  '52 style with ash body. Two colour sunburst one piece neck.  Just brilliant. Pure rock and roll.

The Strat is the easiest to play and is my favourite just by a "neck"

I only need a National resonator and I'll be totally happy.
