Russ
This is an excellent song with a real "Country" feel to it.
Well done.
That Chopro does get's abit frustrating sometimes.
Here's a site where you try out your song before you log on to chordie http://webchord.sourceforge.net/
Converts it into Chopro format to see how it looks.
Anyway it's something more to play around with  smile

Re: A FEW TO MANY

Re: A FEW TO MANY

Stinking B chord.  I'll play the song, but with an "arrangement" that avoids the B.  Just because it's you Russell, I'll leave in the Bm (unlike other 'arrangements' I've done).  Love the lyrics, love the pace.  I've always had a soft spot for folks who get addicted to drink - one of those "There but for the grace of God go I" things perhaps.

Granted B chord amnesty by King of the Mutants (Long live the king).

Re: A FEW TO MANY

Hi Russel,

Good storey, it could be a Dean Martin record [if he was still with us] I do hope it's a made up song rather than you writing from the bottom of a glass and the pit of despair?

Anyway another good one

Phill

Ask not what Chordie can do for you, but what you can do for Chordie.

Re: A FEW TO MANY

zurf glad you liked everything but the "B" its easy to play if you capo 3rd fret and play the open chord positions eccept for B and C#minor but its a easy tune to strum i cant promiss to write a song without B but i will concider it for you zurf

Re: A FEW TO MANY

And long may you stick around !

This feels like a prequel to the poignant and beautiful "Whiskey Lullabye". The last last line of the first verse is certainly evocative of it. The song has real resonance.

"What's so funny 'bout peace, love and understandin' ."    Elvis Costello

Re: A FEW TO MANY

thank you alan I have a soft place in my heart for country music it expresses deep feelings with easy to understand words and melodies and evokes emotion in listeners, it can sum up in a few lyrics and chords what takes volumes in other expressions

LONG LIVE THE MUTANTS!!!

Don't you dare write a song without a B chord on my behalf.  Your songs are much too special to go mucking about with them for the likes of me.  Give me some time, I'll get the B chord some day and then I'll have a whole plethora of Russell Harding songs to call upon.
