Topic: "If I Had"

No matter what you have it always seems like you could sure use a little more whether you need it or not, and that’s what this song’s about. It was longer but I trimmed it down some.

Hey Daddy - Thanks - I thought about that but I wanted to relate the time, money, etc ...as a tangible substance that you have, or don't have and can run out of. Like a resource you have and have to figure out how you are going to utilize it. So, yes it would be "with you" but I would be spending time, the resource, on being with you...and to fit it into the verse I had to be word miserly and make a call which came out spend it all "on" in the end. Really I just went with my first instinct when I wrote and am too stubborn to change. smile

Hey Saba and Lena - Thanks - Yeah, I had this idea and as I wrote it kept turning into something else until finally I figured I have it pretty good and don't really need to much of anything really other than time with my #1girl...  smile
