Topic: I'M BACK BUT BROKEN?

Hi to all on Chordie, well I'm back from America, after three weeks but things did not go as planed.
I won't go into all the details now, I'll get around to them latter in another post.
Anyone who has read my posts will know i had planed to take out a years Membership with Jam-Play, this however will have to be put on hold as I fell at the start of my third week, in Busch-Gardens and smashed my right wrist and arm. The Doctor in America wanted to oparate, but that would have ment me being left behind when my family returned home, so I waited till I returned to Belfast. I now have to see a specilist to see if I need an oparation, as the arm and wrist are pretty well smashed up. I'm typing this left handed and even after more than a week I'm still in a lot of pain. So I can't even practies, there is a slite chanch if it is not set right I could lose the use off my right hand, so at the minute i feel gutted, still I am hoping for the best. More at a later date?

Luck to all, Headcase.

Re: I'M BACK BUT BROKEN?

Oh Boy Headcase,

This was definitely not the holiday you planned and I am sorry to learn of your misfortune. I wish you well and hope that the specialist is able to give you some good news when you see him.

Take care,

Roger

Jees Headcase, that sounds bad. Hope the local bone doctors can put it right. Keep at them.

Re: I'M BACK BUT BROKEN?

Oh Headcase, we are feeling for you man.

Have you consulted a Solicitor yet?  Unless you unfortunate incident was the result of a bit too long a stay in the "tasting" room, you might have a case for renumeration by the good folks at Busch.  I can assure you that here in the States if such a thing happened there would be a flock of legals camped at your door itching to file writs on your behalf (for a percentage of course!).

Either way we will be lobbying the Great Spirit on your behalf for a speedy and full recovery!

It's amazing what doctors can do today so don't give up on yourself. smile Bare down and get better.
The link from Southpaw is a good one to draw from. Also I posted a link to Justin Hines in the bands and artists section. It is a good link to draw inspiration from even though he has a different  problem. The human spirit is an incredible thing.

Keep at it and get gooder!!!

Re: I'M BACK BUT BROKEN?

If you were at the Virginia Busch Gardens, you were mere miles from some of the nation's best orthopeadic surgeons in the country at the University of Virginia.  I understand your reluctance to have surgery here and return home after your family, though.  That's a tough call and there's no wrong answer in it.

Best of luck with recovering from your injury.  I'll be praying for you.

I second Zurf's assertion that University of Virginia has some of the planets best orthopaedic, reconstructive, and plastic surgeons. The fine doctors at UVA saved my life and my arm. I am forever grateful to them.........

Re: I'M BACK BUT BROKEN?

Hi to all those who wished me well, it's nice to know so many are rooting for you.
I don't intend to let this stop me, even if I have to end up playing with my feet.
As the arm improves and the pain improves, I'll write a lot more topics.
Luck to all and many thanks.

Headcase,
Severity of injuries are all relative. The important thing is to overcome and pursue your goal(s). I thought I had it rough a few times and began to feel sorry for myself and wonder, 'why me'? Then I would see a person in a wheel chair getting around by themselves using only their mouth to control a device that controlled their chair. And while in the hospital, the trauma unit was right beside the burn victim unit. The sights, sounds, and smells that I observed in that place will enable one to put things in proper perspective real fast. Have you seen the video on youtube of the guy with no arms playing 'Last Dance With Mary Jane'? You'll be fine and know that there are people out here in the 'wild blue yonder' willing to help out and make the hard times a little bit easier.
