Re: RECORDING PRODUCERS

Hello Russell and Roger,

Sure, I'm in for a challenge now and then.  Still unemployed and seem to have a lot of free time on my hands these days.
My PT asked me what line of work I was in and I told him that I'm a "househusband" which sounds a little better than "unemployed with poor prospects in a failing economy".

Always glad to help if I can.

  Take Care;

Re: RECORDING PRODUCERS

Re: RECORDING PRODUCERS

Hi Russ

you know you can rely on me to do whatever I can

Phill

Ask not what Chordie can do for you, but what you can do for Chordie.

Re: RECORDING PRODUCERS

Thank you Phill I am elated you are adding your name your recordings are proof of your ability to mix and engineer a project and with the membership on chordie over the 200,000 mark quality assistance is a huge benifit to this forum welcome smile

Re: RECORDING PRODUCERS

I got plenty of time on my hands Russel ... dont mind giving it a go at mixing and adding instruments etc ... though I would not put anyone through the suffering of my vocals .

any resemblance to my songs sounding anything like the original is highly unlikely.

Re: RECORDING PRODUCERS

thats great! evsynator i will  add your name to the producers list and if you list the instruments you play there are links at the top of the page to add your name to and thanks again smile

Re: RECORDING PRODUCERS

Just trying to be a little bit care full here Russell ... when you say links at top of the page - do you mean join an account on mediafire etc ? because thats the only links I see. thanks

any resemblance to my songs sounding anything like the original is highly unlikely.

Re: RECORDING PRODUCERS

Hi Evsynator,

If you open the 'Sicky' that I put up "Members Willing To Help With Recording And Composing" (unfortunately closed 'Sticky' titles come up in grey and are not very prominent) you will find links to the threads where Russ was asking who could do what.

Follow the links for whatever you are able to help with, and add your name. This will bring the thread back to the top of the page and Russ can add your name to list of others willing to help.

You will see that Russ has already added your name to the Recording Producers

Re: RECORDING PRODUCERS

Good to hear Scott smile now all we need is members with songs to record its like pulling teeth there are members who submit songs to the songwriting forum but never record them,it makes little sense to me but hopefully as chordie grows there will be new members who utilize this resource smile

Re: RECORDING PRODUCERS

I'm pretty new on here.  I sing.  If you can use that.  If you go to YouTube and look up gabbysings2, there are 3 cover songs I put down for the heck of it.  They were all first takes using karaoke music.    Use to be in a band and now trying to learn guitar.  In the band, I only sang.

Re: RECORDING PRODUCERS

Put my name in the hat as well.

Ive only been playing for a couple of years so my guitar is not great, vocals are marginally passable but I have reasonable mixing skills.

As always I hope you enjoy my musical journey as much as I do.

Re: RECORDING PRODUCERS

We appreciate your willing to help please do not include links to sites where your songs are for sale.

Re: RECORDING PRODUCERS

While not new to Chordie, I have not looked at teh forum till today.  Big Question.  What format do I need to send to whoever would be willing to mix and add?  I have Audio galaxy tracks.  I also have a cakewalk program I bought and have never learned to use.

If this was the wrong section of the forum  to post this question, sorry Ill get it all sorted out. THANKS!

Re: RECORDING PRODUCERS

Cakewalk is a company owned by Roland and their software is distributed with a lot of their gear.  They make Sonar, which you might have heard of.

The problem with distribution of files is that the size of .wav files (the CD quality tracks you are probably recording) is huge, which is why mp3 works.  The drawback to mp3 is that it is a lossy format, so you are losing audio information that might be useful as you mix and master your songs.   I've been using Dropbox, a network synched folder, to distribute big files amongst family recently, and it works really well.

Someday we'll win this thing...

Re: RECORDING PRODUCERS

Mostly use MP3 myself small and easy to move around and for the amateur simple to format with all recording mixing software.
Never had to much trouble with loss of frequency myself but with a pro it might be an issue.
Wave files are good but large so not always easy to share via email etc.
