Strong Teaby Brad McDougall

march 27/07

There[A] ain't nothing[A7] like a strong [D] cup of [F] tea,

[A]with a [A7] friend like [D] you.

[A]We'll sit and [A7] talk about the[D] days [F] events,

[A]And have a [A7] laugh or [D] two.

[A]It's hard to [A7] make it [D] in this [F] life

[A]When your [A7] all [D] alone

[A]You need a good[A7] friend you [D] know[F]

[A]To help [A7] share the [D] load.

[C]And the tea we had [G] thru the [D] years

[C]Has helped to [G] quell our [D] fears

[C]As the bag [G] soaked up our [D] tears

[C]The laughter and the [G] memories are [D] clear

[A]Many [A7] timesyou [D] helped me [F] out

[A]When [A7] I was [D] down

[A]You always [A7] been [D] there for [F] me

[A]You always[A7] been [D] around.

[A]Thru the [A7] years we [D] brewed the [F] tea

[A]And the stories [A7] that we [D] told

[A]Will keep us [A7] friends for[D] evermore [F]

[A]Will keep us [A7] going [D] strong.

Chorus

[A] And if you [A7] need a [D] helping [F] hand

[A]I'll be [A7] there for [D] you

[A] You helped me [A7] lots [D] thru the [F] years

[A]I will [A7] help you [D]too.

[A] [A7] [D] [F] let F ring.... Thanks friend...........

     The end.

I do it with a slow to moderate strum, have fun.

Re: RE; "STRONG TEA"

Badeye ,
   Thanks , I love this song .
Right off , it makes me think of some of my best friends over the years .  I think one of the most important things a song writer learns , is how to make the listener identify
with the lyrics . Great job......
( One of these days , I'm going to get a computer wiz
to help me put up some of mine ......)

Re: RE; "STRONG TEA"

i love it, badeye! smile as usual, i managed to imagine how it goes in my head, and if i'm correct it sounds very catchy, well done.
i don't like it as much as your name, Brad McDougall, i'm afraid, that is just AWESOME lol i'm very jealous!

Re: RE; "STRONG TEA"

badeye,
A song about TEA? lol well this is the first time I have heard a song about tea...... ermmm no, not quite, there is that song " tea for two and two for tea etc etc etc"
And also the dogs d'amour sing a song called the ballad of Jack, the chorus sings " all I want is a cuppa tea" but really their tea is jack Daniels.

so a song deidcated to tea , hmmmmm.
yeah ok, I like it lol
love the lyrics as well.

Re: RE; "STRONG TEA"

nice song badeye we dont drink a whole lot of tea on this side of the pond but sitting down over a cup of coffee or tea in this case, and reflecting in the quiet moments together is important and your lyrics relate this good job smile

Re: RE; "STRONG TEA"

Hi Old doll, I LOVE apple pie, I'm off to the travel agent to get a plane ticket, ps, keep the calories in the cream, after all, their is a limit to how healthy we need to be. I think this new tea drinkers blue page layout is quite cool.
pps - can't you send us some of your rain, we are melting over here, with terrible fires raging all over
ppps - after reading your post I wrote a poem/song about tea, but it is still in my longhand scrawl - not yet typed up.

Keep on Rocking and remember Animals Feel Pain Too.

Re: RE; "STRONG TEA"

Hahahahahahahahha,

So its my apple pie and cream ya want ! Ok...

We had soft  rain today for the first time in a while.. You know the type ? its misty, refreshing, but soaks..  Buvvy, take all ya need as we get far to much, i tell you..

Well for you sweltering in sunshine.. Now eat your pie quick !as the cream not used to blistering  heat.

Ill pop back to read you poem..

Re: RE; "STRONG TEA"

hi badeye,

i like to see where people are from, so i googled up cape breton island, and it says your in canada on our side! looks like a lot of trees and snow...hey buvvy that'll cool your fires down!!!!

back to the song, very warm lyrics and i hope the person you wrote them about appreciates your work!

i'm quite partial to tea my-self, as coffee makes my heart do funny things and i end up in hospital! as i did 2 years ago when i was in mandurah near perth in the land of oz.
there is also a song by paul mccartney called "english tea"

phill

ps. and i've gone all blue too...must be the cold!

Ask not what Chordie can do for you, but what you can do for Chordie.

Re: RE; "STRONG TEA"

Thanks for the comments, can't say why it's all blue,

Old Doll it was me that deleted by mistake. ooops.

Hi Phill, yeap lots of trees and major amount of snow, winter hangs on a long time here, our
southern friends call this place the great white north, but it's not all bad, we have tea and music to keep us going.

glad to see you all liked the song, very encourging.

Guilty as charged. Badeye had put a '[' bracket before soc instead of '{' and this had altered the formatting of every post in this thread.

Badeye. Since my last reply to this I have found that I do like green tea but still not the ordinary stuff with milk and sugar - still like the song though lol

Re: RE; "STRONG TEA"

Ah the mystery is out and honesty is the best policy. Kinda liked the blue tho. I know this song was posted before but self-promotion is not all bad. If you look at the chords they are
the same as the tune "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" I just changed the melody a bit which
is ok to do I think. Thanks for the feedback...
