Topic: 12 string tuning

Can someone confirm the tuning for a 12 string guitar.  Starting from the top (E), is it:

Both the same (E)

both the Same (A)

both the Same (D)

both the same (G)

An octave apart (B)

An octave apart (e)

thanks

Re: 12 string tuning

For standard tuning the E and B are tuned in unison...E A D G are tuned an octave apart...

Better with a tuner though, you will find it much easier to tune them all.

Re: 12 string tuning

The best thing to tune a 12 string is using a tuning device, it works fine with me, and the 2 small (thin strings) they are the same, so you will have a double E, I think that MARTIN has a guitar, with 7 strings, 5 normal and a double E (BYRDS Guitarist) for the "twang", there are even guitars now with a very normal model, but 8 strings. Never tried one.
