Topic: question about slap strumming for guitar....

Before I started okay guitar I played bass guitar for about six months, and then I switched to the guitar (I would've started guitar on the spot but I didn't have a guitar to play at the time)
While I played bass guitar I got a little bit into slap bass,

I want to try some slap guitar but I'm not exactly sure how to. what differences are there between slap bass and slap strumming?

Check out Jam Play . . . In Phase one there is a guy called David Anthony. He's teaching jazz and it's pretty complicated chords, but if you listen to his lesson intro's and watch what he's doing it should give you some ideas.

Just thought I'd let you know that I asked a question about this too... different question.. but you might find this thread interesting:

Sorry you haven't gotten an answer to your actual question yet "difference between bass and acoustic slap" ... wish I had an answer for ya!  In the mean time, I have looked up a LOT about slap strumming ... and seen a LOT of different ways to go about this.  Absolutely query youtube for slap strum and then sit back and be ready to watch some stuff.  Everything from palm muting, slapping the bass strings with your thumb or pick, to slapping the strings up higher on the neck to get notes, and then there's even tapping on the body of the guitar itself.  GOOD LUCK!
