Topic: Cables and jacks - will this work (pics in post)

Hi All,

I got my first pedal last week other day and have only just got the cable to go with it.

Anyway, will the following setup work at home. I've got the cable which has one black line on it (on left below) and the 3.5mm > 1/4 jack I plan to use out of the pedal has 2 black lines on it (on right).

My question is;
Do these black lines make any difference or do I still need yet another cable to feed into a (yet to be bought) amp or will my headphones be ok with the 35mm>1/4 jack?

Many thanks in advance,

Lukey the plug with one is a mono your guitar plugs into this the other with two is a stereo plug it can be used if you have two amps or as a single output if your useing only one amp smile

Morning,

Plugged it all in last night and it makes noise so I'm happy with that. Cheers for your reply.

IUKEy,  What you have there is golden!

  Had not thought about running effects with a Uke.... but it works with Mando, so why not?  I gather that your device has a mono 1/4" input, so theoretically you could even send a microphone (dynamic) through and get some interesting results.  Gosh we do love our toys!

Have fun with it and let us know how you like it.

if the Zoom's anything like mine, then it supports stereo out when a stereo jack is connected to the output. It'll also automatically change the output to drive headphones/earphones if it detects them being connected as well.

A lot of the effects mine does have a stereo element to them. They sound fine in mono, but to really appreciate them a stereo amp setup is required.

Hi All,
Just to finish the thread, this does work and its a lot of fun. I upgraded the earphones to a set of Cans as they have a 3m cable so I'm not hunched over so the 1.5m cable isnt being pulled out compared to the original mp3 player in-ear type ones. The pedal makes some cool echos, distorts, reverbs etc and some weird warpy sounds effects. Lots of fun.

Cheers for all your inputs
