Topic: Chord Help....(Complex)

Greetings,

There is a song that I have been trying to figure out for the past 3 years.
I love it soooo much but I cannot, for the life of me, figure out what the chords are. I have run it through analyzer software and the software got close but still not the exact chords.

I have uploaded the song to a share space since the band doesn't have the song available on youtube yet.

It's called "Summer left me" by Bethany Curve.

The chords I need kick in at around 30 seconds into the song.
If you can help at all I would be so thankful.

thanks,

Re: Chord Help....(Complex)

I thought someone would be able to help you.  I haven't a clue what the chords are.  I am sure someone will comw along and help

I have finally found happiness in my life.  Guitars, singing, beer and camping.  And they all intertwine wonderfully.

Re: Chord Help....(Complex)

Hi DM,

Gave it a listen and it is very difficult with the phaser overpowering the guitar in the beginning....  I'm tending to think that it is an alternate tuning, which would explain why your software could only get "close".  Haven't dragged my guitar out and tried yet, but sounds kinda like FMaj7, CMaj7, Am  progression or a variation thereof.  Might be a 12'er which has a bit of sharpness in the open strings droning away that makes it seem like an odd tuning.

Hope somebody (like the band itself) scores it out, it's a toughie for sure!

Awesome!! Thank you!
I have tried contacting the band as well but no results so far.

I will try the chords you posted and keep on trying.

Thank you,

Re: Chord Help....(Complex)

Hi Dm,

You don't half pick the hard ones, don't you. A combination of software and me comes up with this repetitive combination which sounds about OK to me (better not tell you I should use a hearing aid though lol). Try this:

2 beats Asus (x02230)
2 beats Am9 (xx5557)
4 beats A (x02220

Hope it helps,

Re: Chord Help....(Complex)

I came up with A add9 (077600)or (077650) and a G6 (055430) Fmaj7 (033210) and maybe C maj7(0-10-10-9-0-0).  I didn't try to find the pattern.  But these sound good strumming along with the song.  It's more like a mood than a song.

Re: Chord Help....(Complex)

Wow, Thank you Roger and Icecubetray3pak.

hehe..yeah, I hardly ever have any requests that are easy lol.
I can't wait to try these out on my morning 15 minute break.
Icecubetray...you're right on the chords being moody. Ambient/shoegaze music is always dreamy.

Thanks again!!

Still trying out more of your chords for the ending of the song.
It's only two chords...just gotta figure out which two.

Then I can play the whole song through and add a nice lead with my RC-2.
